The timeline of the Magical Vacation series takes place in an ambiguous time period, with the entirety of its canon spanning across hundreds of millions of years. Occasional mentions of years past since certain events help detail a rough sequence of the universe's history.

Beginning of time

c. 10 billion years ago

Brownies supposedly create the Material Plane of the universe from the big bang, which is personified as the queen of light.
In the Material Plane, the queen of light creates the planets of the Baklava solar system. Nova, the light planet, is situated inside the sun at the very center of the universe.
As new concepts are produced in the universe, new planes of existence and dimensions based on these concepts begin overlapping one another. Planes also produce spirits of their respective attributes.

Before Magical Vacation

Billions of years ago

Main article: Putty song

The first man and woman are born from a song of warmth, as are the land and the heavens. Their singing creates a world of wind and the wind people.
Earth people are born when the wind people pass on, and the world of wind becomes solid. The wind people continue to watch the earthen land in death.
The world is flooded with blood and water, wiping out the earth people and giving life to the water people.
Water people^[a] raise the sunken land, causing underground fire and wavering winds to renew all live. Their power is inherited by the wood people,^[b] who declare themselves the first "true people."
A wood person named Vermicelli becomes king, and as his kin look to the starry skies, the sun emits five streams of light that give power to the planets.
Vermicelli flies into the sun to meet the queen of light on Nova. They share a song, but Vermicelli is struck with anxiety and flees to a cave to sing the song of the beginning. Sensing his own death, Vermicelli instead sings the song of death, which wreaks havoc among Baklava's planets. People from each planet sing their own song to produce a new planet, Kovomaka, which the queen of light creates life for and sends to the outskirts of Baklava.

Several hundred million years ago

An orbiting neutron star called Shadra is drawn into the Baklava system. It experiences a peak in energy, causing a new sun to form around it.
Nova's sun and Shadra's sun merge together. They occupy parallel dimensions, periodically switching places relative to the universe's balance of magic. Once the two suns merge, Phunnel Pit, Glissini Caves, and the Starway are spontaneously formed. They bridge the dimensional gap between Nova and Shadra by harnessing planetary energy.
Beneath Glissini Caves is a hole connecting the dimensions, but it is sealed shut by an abrupt collision of plasma and matter.

Several thousands of years ago

A great civilization flourishes on Erd, but for reasons unknown, it collapses.
Water people on Cassia quarry rocks from Nata de Coco to build the Holy Water Pyramid.

c. 12,000 years ago

The Espresso civilization migrate from Puffoon to Erd, effectively replacing the previous society. Doctor Calzone cannot find a gate to Nova from the resident yogart gurus, so he joins forces with Craaken to construct a plant where self-sustaining robots are manufactured.
Calzone invites Applepie to Erd, as her psychic powers relate to his tests of the etherealization phenomenon.
The first iteration of Calzone's robot AI program, Ribbit Ribbit Alpha, is completed. A Beta version is developed shortly after, which can manipulate psionic energy, but tensions quickly rise between the Espressos and Erd's native inhabitants.
Around four years later, the brownies declare war against the Espressos. Robots operating on Ribbit Ribbit Beta are ordered to fight back against the nine stone giants, resulting in the annihilation of all but one of them.
Amidst the chaos, the robots defy the Espressos and gummify them to fuel their battery cores.
Several robots are somehow launched off Erd and scattered throughout the universe.
Craaken retreats to Cassia, where he opens Ambergris Preparatory School in hopes of spreading the secrets of magic. He predicts that in the distant future, the sun will be devoured by a worm nestled within the planet Shadra, and the universe will perish with it. Afterwards, the worm shall birth a new sun, and in turn, produce a new universe. This knowledge is preserved in several copies of a grimoire entitled the Book of the Darned.
In the depths of Shishkebab Cavern on Razen, Craaken designs the Stone Stage, which uses solar energy and magic to link with Nova's dimension.

Thousands of years ago

The first colonies of felins and wolks are founded in the Wind Plane and Wood Plane respectively. As time passes, they migrate to outer planes.
The puppets of Torūna Village finish constructing the Benakoncha Ruins, raising it into the sky.
Cassia enters a deadly ice age, but the fire otter sets a cup of water ablaze to keep the otters warm. Once the ice age ends, the otters build a cauldron in Holy Water Pyramid to perform fire rituals.
Twigadamus,^[c] a magician of the Lakeside family, accidentally loses his physical form and possesses a fallen stick. He spends the rest of his life as a clairvoyant in Honey Mint.

Hundreds of years ago

A war breaks out in the Light Plane, so the Archangels of Light and Twelve Knights of Antiquity are summoned. They fight with weapons forged at Condimen Tower.
The ancestors of the Nighthawk family, who live in a country west of Kovomaka Kingdom, abandon their practice of necromancy.

c. 900 years ago

The sea king Vespucci lands on Valencia Beach to bury his treasure in a cave. Before leaving, he murders his underlings to keep the treasure's location a secret.
Vespucci gets cursed by an enigma and turns into a dodo.

c. 700 years ago

Vespucci's treasure is found by explorers who murder one another. Their restless souls create a vortex in the cave, linking the Material Plane to the Light Plane.

c. 300 years ago

Biscotti, a master magician from Kovomaka, meets with the enigma king Yūvekku to learn the enigmas' especial abilities. They fuse together, and Biscotti begins introducing magical concepts to the people of Kovomaka Kingdom. He later founds Will-o'-Wisp Academy, a school where youths with latent powers can study magic. His intention is to have them learn magic, while also keeping them away from the enigmas for their own safety.
Kerurendu takes control of the enigma tribe in Yūvekku's absence, then declares war against Kovomaka Kingdom. However, Biscotti defeats Kerurendu by using Yūvekku's power as leverage. Kerurendu's defeat ruins his prestige, making it so the lesser enigmas no longer obey him. He opts to continually reincarnate in order to attain a more powerful form and covertly overthrow Kovomaka Kingdom.

c. 200 years ago

The age of antiquity comes to an end in the Light Plane. Rēmittsu Palace is abandoned, later becoming a den for monsters.
Mousse falls off a cliff and dies, to the dismay of his brother Tiramisu.
Gyuuhi Ogura's body is mysteriously taken, so he borrows the body of an inchworm, becoming a guide in the Dark Plane.
The queen of light dies and undergoes a new period of reincarnation. In the meantime, her guardian luminites are tasked with upholding the rules of Sparklin Palace.^[d]

c .100 years ago

A brownie painter named Mattsoora draws Pucine, Pucine the 2nd, and Pucine the 3rd to life. He soon realizes the Pucine family is of bad temperament, so he creates their gentle descendent Putchine. Mattsoora then catches a cold, passing away when Putchine gives him medicine.

98 years ago

Brown is born.

78 years ago

Chappy is born.

A spatial anomaly occurs in Gazpacho Village.

On February 21, Madeleine is born.

Chocolat Cracks is unearthed from a hill and enrolled in Will-o'-Wisp by Biscotti.
Bruschetta and his team of dwarves excavate Café au Lait Rustynail from Zundoko Pit, but he is sold to a curiosity shop after the dwarves go bankrupt. Biscotti, delighted to find a copy of Ribbit Ribbit Beta still in tact, purchases Café au Lait.

On August 6, Lemon Airsupply is born.
On December 25, Cassis Lumberyard is born.

15 years ago

On January 29, Blueberry Lakeside is born.
On March 14, Peche Farmer is born after her parents move from Wakuti Village to the Material Plane.
On May 18, Ganache Nighthawk is born.
On October 28, Arancia Scorenote is born.
On November 30, Kirsch Pintail is born.
Despite trying to distance the academy's students from the enigmas, one in five graduates still end up fusing with them. This inevitably sparks the Three Day War, which results in several casualties, but all records of the war are withheld from the public and soon lost to history.
Biscotti revises his policy, and instead sends students off to Valencia Beach every summer to meet with the enigmas. Those who fuse with enigmas while still retaining their sense of self are accepted into the royal army, while the weak-hearted sink into darkness.

Cabernet's father drunkenly gives him a frog that he claims will teach him magic. The frog lives in Cabernet's hat and makes him a target of ridicule at first, but it soon becomes one of Will-o'-Wisp's seven wonders.

A snowstorm hits the Mt. Panaché art festival. Several attendees, including Cidre and his mother, are left stranded for four days. Cidre's mother leaves the festival in search of help, but she does not return when rescuers arrive the next day.

3 years ago

Piskapooko is born.
Candy, inspired by the magicians who saved her village, enrolls in Will-o'-Wisp to become a sorceress. She meets Ganache and quickly falls in love.
Vanilla Nighthawk's class is sent to Valencia Beach, and as Biscotti planned, they encounter enigmas. Vanilla survives the attack, but unknowingly fuses with an enigma, returning to the academy with an obsession for power. She tells Ganache of her plans to destroy both the kingdom and Biscotti, bidding him and Chardonnay Cheaptrick farewell before going off grid.
Ganache confronts Biscotti and Miss Madeleine about Vanilla's change in behavior, but Biscotti has no qualms, believing that suppressing Vanilla's new powers will only limit her true potential.

Ricebird is born in a distant world and somehow ends up in Garam Masala.

Vanilla returns to the kingdom after the enigma in her heart takes full control, making her unrecognizable. Soldiers are sent from the capital to deal with Vanilla, but over two hundred of them, including Chardonnay, are slaughtered. Like the previous war, very little information is made public, but Cassis obtains leaked information from the societal underground.
Biscotti and Madeleine intervene by sealing Vanilla inside Chiboust Castle. Chardonnay, realizing the monster is Vanilla, asks for his body to be buried in a place that overlooks the castle.

Kirsch and Sesame talk with their classmates about their upcoming trip to Valencia Beach. However, Kirsch is fixated on finding out who Candy is crushing on.

Magical Vacation

The protagonist is shunned by people from their hometown for being able to see spirits. Biscotti pays them a visit, inviting them to enroll in Will-o'-Wisp.
In the middle of August,^[e] the protagonist and their classmates are sent to Valencia Beach despite Miss Madeleine's concerns. The class is inevitably abducted by enigmas and sent to the Light Plane, where the protagonist's journey to reunite everybody commences. As they join up with their classmates and uncover the enigmas' history with the academy, the class begins to pursue Ganache and Candy in the Dark Plane, as Ganache plans on fusing with Kerurendu to free Vanilla and exact revenge on the kingdom. The adventure carries on through the Death Plane, and once Candy is saved, the class confronts Ganache with Kerurendu. After Kerurendu is defeated and Ganache is able to reconcile, he finds himself unable to use magic, but awakened to a higher consciousness.

After Magical Vacation

Ganache and Candy establish the Biscotti Sect. With his awakened abilities, Ganache unites enigma-possessed people from all over Kovomaka Kingdom over the course of half a year. Just as the Biscotti Sect seize control of the nation, Ganache releases Vanilla from Chiboust Castle, and Kovomaka welcomes a 200-year-long era of peace.
Chocolat resumes living carefree on a hill near the academy.
Cabernet is declared the guardian of his hat frog's country.
Lemon popularizes a fighting technique that combines magic with martial arts.
Peche sets up a fundraiser to build a dodo sanctuary.
Olive becomes a wildlife guardian on an uninhabited island.
Cidre creates artwork depicting his adventures for future generations to see.
Cassis donates all of his treasures to impoverished children, then ventures out alone.
Pistachio graduates from the academy with a PhD. He publishes several papers and is eventually hired as a professor.
Arancia marries Kirsch and gives birth to two children. Kirsch travels across the world, then returns to the academy where he is appointed as an instructor.
Blueberry goes to the Water Plane to befriend the water people and study magic. She later peruses a secondary education at Ambergris Prep on Cassia.
Sesame becomes an antiques technician. One of his experiments involves remodeling Café au Lait into a rocket, launching him into outer space from Valencia Beach.
Candy quits magic altogether, choosing to become a historian and political scientist at Will-o'-Wisp Academy.
The protagonist becomes a professor, teaching supportive magic to reform Will-o'-Wisp into a school suitable for the new era. In alternate continuities, they set out on a journey across the universe, earning many titles across thirty countries and twenty planes. Later on, their book containing information on enigma fusion and the dodo curse is mailed to Candy at Will-o'-Wisp Academy. Their journey ends when they pass away in the Wind Plane at the age of 87.
