Twigadamus is a character in Magical Starsign. He is a clairvoyant who lives in Honey Mint on Puffoon, able to see into the future with his magic crystal.

Personality

Twigadamus is wise, friendly, and thoughtful, with a youthful sense of humor. He respects any new people he meets, and enjoys sharing his wisdom. In Japanese, he ends sentences with ぢゃ dja rather than です desu or だ da (am/is).

Appearance

It is unknown what Twigadamus looked like before assuming his current form, in which he is an inconspicuous tree branch.

Biography

Early life

Twigadamus lived in Honey Mint for over a thousand years, losing his human body after his soul accidentally slipped out of it. Ever since then, his soul had possessed a tree branch. In Japanese, his full name was revealed to be Puregu Lakeside, cited by Corduroy among other magicians as graduates of Ambergris Preparatory School. Blueberry Lakeside from Magical Vacation, was also mentioned as an Ambergris graduate, implying that Twigadamus and Blueberry were somehow related.

Magical Starsign

The party first met Twigadamus after their brief skirmish with Lt. Mugwort of the Space Police in Honey Mint. Before then, Brioche had taken in a fugitive Chai, who fled the police carrying secret documents, but was brought back to Bena Rikashi by Brie Pourri. Brioche's father Cresson bribed Mugwort to leave the party alone, offering Brioche's piggy bank of two million bira. Brioche groveled over the loss of his money, which he planned on using to own a restaurant in Bena Rikashi. However, Twigadamus returned to the village and reminded Brioche that his dream was fated to happen, as see saw it in his magic crystal. Introducing himself to the party, Twigadamus told them of how popular Madeleine was among the Baklava system's magicians. He then welcomed them to look into his crystal, wherein they saw a vision of the Space Police HQ and chest near a fishing brownie. As a parting gift, the students were given the sky book, which taught them the spell celestial swap.

During the party's quest to find the wind millennium gummy later on, they visited Twigadamus in Honey Mint at King Suspiro's request. Observing his crystal, they learned that the wind gummy was kept in a shrine above Puffoon, accessible beyond a sprouting bud in Quinoa Plain. Using wood wild magic, Chai was able to turn the bud into a viney ladder, bringing the party up to Couscous Ruins.

Trivia

• In the game's files, there exist battle sprites of a stick, presumed to be Twigadamus, who acted as a party member. His name is listed as ぼう Bō (Stick), which is a nickname used during his introduction in Japanese.
  • According to the game's battle data designer Hiroki Matsuura, the developers intended for the stick to be a party member, but ultimately decided that it would look too weak for the final cut of the game. They instead repurposed the stick as Twigadamus.

Nomenclature

His name is a combination of twig and Nostradamus, a 16th century French astrologer.
