MagiVaca: Rinkai Gakkō Zenjitsu-hen (マジバケ 臨海学校前日編, lit.literally MagiVaca: The Day Before the Seaside School) is a manga illustrated by Shinichi Kameoka. It is a tie-in to Magical Vacation that takes place one day before the game's events. The manga first appeared in the January 2002 issue of V Jump,[citation needed] and was later featured in the V Jump Books Magical Vacation strategy guide and the official Nintendo Magical Vacation webpage.
Plot
After Miss Madeleine dismisses her class for the day, Kirsch and Sesame talk about their upcoming trip to Valencia Beach. Kirsch declares that spending the summer there will help him become a real man, and Sesame asks if that means he will ask out Arancia. Kirsch, however, states he only loved Arancia when they were kids. Just then, Arancia approaches boys with Pistachio and invites Kirsch to go shopping, but Kirsch tells Pistachio to carry her bags instead. Lemon joins in with Blueberry, poking fun at how Kirsch's rudeness would make his future wife leave him, to which Kirsch insults Lemon back and receives an electric shock.
Cassis and Cidre arrive shortly after. Cidre proclaims being kind to girls makes them prettier, and Cassis runs off when he realizes Arancia is single. When he and Cidre leave, Sesame wonders if Kirsch is okay with people swooning over Arancia. Kirsch could care less, telling Sesame that it means less people will be pining for his true love interest, Candy. Sesame recalls Candy saying she was in love with another boy, making Kirsch furious. Desperate for answers, the boys try to figure out who Candy is in love with, their first omissions being Chocolat and Café au Lait. Sesame suggests they consult Olive, who supposedly has the power to understand people by simply looking at them. Coincidentally, Olive passes by and glances at Kirsch, saying he should talk to Candy himself.
Cabernet shows up and Kirsch accuses him of being Candy's crush, though he is quickly let go. Kirsch panics, believing he will not be able to focus at camp if all he can think about is Candy's crush. Suddenly, Candy and Peche come to visit the boys. Candy asks if Kirsch is in charge of lighting the campfire at the beach, exclaiming she is excited to see his magic in action. Kirsch nervously takes her compliment, though Sesame argues he had the perfect chance to ask her about her crush. Kirsch wonders if Candy is actually in love with him, causing him to erupt with excitement.
