Special power[edit | edit source]

Sesame's special power warns the player if chests contain monsters instead of items.

Profile[edit | edit source]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Sesame is easily frightened and introverted, but also tends to be very curious, so much so he often gets into trouble for it. Not many people trust Sesame due to his irresponsibility, which often discourages him.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Sesame's hair is blonde with straight bangs that partially cover his eyes, which have teal irises. He wears a big gray that covers most of his body, and sports a brown backpack filled with rolled-up test papers and other junk.[1] He also wears a pair of pale green sneakers.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life[edit | edit source]

Sesame has always been obsessed with bugs, and grabs caterpillars and moths with his bare hands. Because he always carried living and dead critters in his pockets, he earned a bad reputation among the girls at Will-o'-Wisp Academy. His room's walls were also piled up with beetles and caterpillars in glass bottles. After getting into an argument with a friend one day, Sesame poured a bucket of dung beetles in his classroom as payback. This caused the students to panic and class was cancelled for the rest of the day. On other occasions, he lead a procession of ants into the academy, and even peeled back the chrysalis of a swallowtail butterfly that was raised in his class. His parents have gone to the academy to after each incident to apologize.[2]

Magical Vacation[edit | edit source]

Before the students left for Valencia Beach, Sesame and Kirsche talked with the protagonist and Pistachio about their upcoming trip to Valencia Beach. When Candy, Lemon, and Blueberry joined their conversation, Sesame told an elated Kirsche that he could ask Candy out during their stay. Kirsche, however, grew frustrated after Candy assumed he would confess to Arancia, so he left for the magic bus in a huff while Sesame followed. On the ride to the beach, Sesame nearly revealed Kirsche's crush on Candy, but was quickly silenced.

Sesame and the protagonist exploring.

Later that evening, Sesame explored the beach and came across a boulder lodged in a rocky arch, catching a glimpse of a cavern on the other side. He invited the protagonist to join him, and they gathered more classmates before kicking the boulder away. Exploring the other side of the arch, Sesame and the others found Ganache and Olive standing outside the cavern. Sesame ordered them to leave, proclaiming he saw it first, to which Ganache warned Sesame of what might be inside, then left with Olive. Exploring the eerie cavern, the students came across a treasure chest left by pirates. Unfortunately, the chest contained nothing but a poptail and pinecones, to Sesame's dismay. The group left the cavern at dusk, returning to the beach cabins for a bonfire. Sesame fled to the cavern afterwards in search of bugs, until suddenly, creatures called enigmas emerged from a vortex where the treasure chest was located. Luckily, he managed to stay hidden from them, while his classmates were warped to another plane of existence called the Light Realm. The protagonist, having survived the abduction, went to the cavern and reunited with Sesame. Sensing a strange energy from the nearby vortex, the protagonist stepped inside while Sesame announced he would stay behind. He insulted the protagonist once they warped off to the Light Realm, but an enigma abruptly jumped in and abducted him.

After the protagonist, Blueberry, Lemon, and Peche cleared Cold Honey Palace, they spotted Sesame running around Rekcarc Quarry, enamored by various insects in the area. The party was about to pass through the quarry to Ville de Souris, when they heard Sesame shriek in the distance. Running back to investigate, it turned out Sesame had carelessly bumped into a Traveling Putty, and got scared because he did not know Putties could speak. Once the Putty left for Ville de Souris, Sesame resumed his hunt for bugs. However, just as the party returned after rescuing Latte, a zaf lopik enigma abducted Sesame under Equillekrew's orders to bring all the students to the Dark Realm. Sesame ended up in the Enigma Forest, trying his best to hide while the party looked for a way to chase after their remaining classmates. Luckily, he was safely brought to Tapioca Tea Village by Musk, who hired Sesame to seek out dodos alongside his pet fennel, hoping to use their medicinal blood to treat his sister Cocoa's sickness. The party would later venture to Ecir Thicket where Nectar had created a sanctuary for dodos, as his twin brother had been transformed into one by an enigma. Suddenly, Sesame stormed in with Musk's fennel and ordered it to kill the dodos, to which the party put the fennel down in order to keep them safe. Musk apologized to Nectar for the incident, unaware dodos were really people put under curses that took one thousand years to wear off. As for Sesame, he was enraged over how his classmates never seemed to care for him, though Cider said everything that happened to Sesame was of his own doing, since he paid more attention to bugs than his surroundings. Sesame proceeded to flee Ecir Thicket, vowing to defeat his classmates by fusing with an enigma.

The party chased Sesame through Enigma Forest, where he approached a rad hasnel enigma and offered his heart for fusion. He admitted to his friends that everything was his fault, from the students' abduction, to getting distracted by bugs, to being Musk's dodo-murdering lackey. With all those weighing on his conscience, Sesame found it better to fuse with an enigma than continue to be his careless self. Cider, on the other hand, told Sesame how fusion would not resolve his issues, and that he was not expected to see eye-to-eye with his classmates. This helped Sesame realize that it was not power he was after, but rather, he sought independence, and so joined the party to fight the rad hasnel. Afterwards, he bragged to the others that by convincing him to not fuse with an enigma, he essentially saved the world from destruction. Sesame then told his classmates that Treeman Colony and Osim Village were beyond Enigma Forest, confident they could learn where Chocolat, Ganache, Candy, Olive, and Cabernet had gone.

As their journey progressed, Sesame and the other students eventually rescued Olive and Cabernet. Ganache and Candy departed for the Abyssal Realm in search of the enigma king Kerendu, whom Ganache planned on fusing with in order to save his sister Vanilla from imprisonment for succumbing to an enigma's power. Reaching Drazzig Grotto after rescuing Candy, the students and Miss Madeleine saw Ganache confront Kerendu, each explaining why he should not conduct a fusion. In Sesame's case, he knew Ganache and Vanilla were both strong enough to destroy the world. Despite Madeleine and Principal Biscotti knowing that as well, they hardly intervened in the students' affairs, which Sesame found shocking since no one ever trusted him that much with anything befire. He found independence because people had faith in him, and wished for Ganache to decide for himself, too. Surely enough, the students were able to defeat Kerendu in the Hall of Rebirth, putting an end to his cycle of reincarnation. The students and Madeleine warped back to the magic bus now that their journey was over, all except for Sesame. He stayed behind, proudly declaring himself the strongest in the universe for having defeated the strongest monster. In the midst of his celebration, Madeleine quickly came back to Drazzig Grotto, reprimanding Sesame as she warped him to rest of the class.

Return to the Kingdom[edit | edit source]

Sesame and Latte.

When Sesame grew up, he became a renowned antiques technician who published countless papers. He ran Latte under many modifications, the last of which was a rocket, and launched him into space from Valencia Beach.
