Magic level is a statistic in Magical Vacation.
Gameplay
Overview
Magic levels are the second main parameter that characters have. While the main level is tied to the characters themselves, magic levels are tied to individual magic attributes. They affect:
- Magic spells learned through level-up.
- Damage output of magic attacks.
- Resistances to certain attributes, independent of the spirit stat.
Formula
Magic attacks are always guaranteed to hit, except for when the caster lacks sufficient MP, or if they are afflicted with a status ailment that prevents them from acting (i.e., paralysis, numbness, sleep, stone).
Damage calculation
(A - B) x C ÷ D
- A = (base power[a] x (attacker's magic level ÷ 2) + base power + attacker's magic level) + 1) x (100% ~ 112.5%) + (attacker's level - defender's level)
- "Attacker's magic level" refers to the attacker using a spell of their original attribute.
- In the case of a bomb being thrown, the formula is: attacker magic level + 2 (no limit)
- Only applies when the level difference is 0 or more.
- If a spell damages multiple enemies simultaneously, the random portions will all have varying values.
- The amplitude of the random portions: 0 ~ (magic level x base power ÷ 2 + base power + magic level) ÷ 8
- The attacker's equipped seals, spirit attribute, etc. do not influence magic damage calculation.
- For the spell powers united: A = party's collective MP ÷ 6
- A character's MP caps at 9999, so the cap for this particular A value is 1666.
- B = (spirit + spirit adjustment rank x defender's magic level + number of seals x 2) x attribute compatibility
- Spirit buffs/debuffs are included.
- Spirit adjustment rank comes in three stages:
- Spirit up = 4
- Spirit down = 2
- Spirit unchanged = 3
- If a spirit buff and debuff are applied simultaneously, it defaults to rank 2.
- "Defender's magic level" refers to the target(s) defending against magic of a particular element.
- Only seals of the corresponding attribute are calculated for the "number of seals" value.
- Enemies are also equipped with a few seals, which are hidden from players' view. Dark-attribute enemies always have one scorching seal, breezy seal, boulder seal, ladybug seal, and animal seal equipped.
- Enemies who are not dark-attribute wear seals of either their own element, or of the element they are strong against.
- Three stages of element compatibility:
- Defender is hit with an attribute they resist: 50% (doubles spirit, reduces damage).
- Defender is hit with an attribute they are weak to: 200% (halves spirit, increases damage).
- Defender is hit with an attribute they are neither strong, nor weak to: 100%.
- Attribute compatibility does not apply to light or love since they have no weaknesses.
- If the attacker uses a spell on an enemy of the same element, the damage is 1.
- C = Spirit Combo
- Up to x128 (with a maximum of 7 spirits on the field)
- D = Only applies if the defender is guarding (damage is halved)

- ↑ Not to be confused with power. For example, Red rose's base power is 3, Shadow die's is 7, etc.
