Putties are a species in the Magical Vacation series. They mainly live in Kugande Village on the Dark Plane and Shishkebab Cavern on Razen.
Profile
Putties are bipedal, wobbly masses of gray konjac with small blue eyes. They are created when putty peas are boiled and mashed, then cooled off in a mold.[1] From the moment they are born, they have knowledge of a song retelling the universe's creation, which has been passed down since ancient times.[2] Their square bodies flop around when they walk, and are said to repel the sharpest of swords, but they can go stale if exposed to sunlight for too long. When they do not have access to water, putties use sheer will to keep themselves hydrated.[3] In Japanese, putties end sentences with でぺたん depetan or ぺたこん petakon, a sound effect for flopping over. Their names are also written in Café au Lait Font.
In Magical Vacation, putties are named after famous philosophers, while in Magical Starsign, their names come from various flowers and spices.

In the 2009 DSiWare game A Kappa's Trail, developed by Brownie Brown, a putty briefly appears as an easter egg. If the player-controlled kappa is guided to a clam next to their underwater house, they will come out looking like a putty.
Nomenclature
Putties are based on konjac, a vegetable native to southwest China.
