Kirsch Pintail[2] is a party member in Magical Vacation. 15 years old, he is an athletic student at Will-o'-Wisp Academy who uses the fire spirit and is best friends with Sesame. After enigmas take Kirsch and his classmates to the Light Plane during the Valencia Beach Seaside School, he teams up with his childhood friend Arancia to save the protagonist and Pistachio from Varukaneira. They also join forces with Ganache to track down a murderer in Torūna Village, and fight against the enigmas who have overtaken Rēmittsu Palace.
Kirsch also appears as the protagonist of MagiVaca: Rinkai Gakkō Zenjitsu-hen, a prologue comic taking place one day before the events of Magical Vacation, which follows him and Sesame as they try to identify Candy's elusive love interest. Outside of the Magical Vacation series, Kirsch can be obtained as a Sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl with his name localized as Kirsh.
Profile
Kirsch is an impulsive, short-tempered boy with a strong sense of justice and an eagerness to win. Even though he acts bossy, he always puts his classmates first and will protect them in dangerous situations. Because of his one-track mind, Kirsch tends to fail at both academics and romance. His hobby is working out, and his favorite food is kishimen, flat udon noodles.[3] He tends to say "good grief, brother" (やれやれだぜブラザー yareyare da ze burazā).
He has spiky blonde hair tied up in the back and teal eyes. His expressions are very accentuated, such as stern frowns when he is serious or toothy grins when excited. He wears a red gi lined in purple fabric with a blue hood attached, and an olive green undershirt. On his wrist are cuffs with colors that compliment the rest of his outfit. He also wears red harem trousers and olive green slip-ons.

Biography
Early life
When Kirsch was young, he promised to marry his best friend Arancia Scorenote, but lost interest after falling in love with Candy Mintblue. He grew up professing to love sports, though he was never really good at them. Kirsch became the type of person who refused to accept defeat, rematching his opponents over and over again until they gave up. Whenever he won, he would brag as though he never lost in the first place. Kirsch also struggled at Will-o'-Wisp Academy due to a lack of studying, but felt accomplished if he got at least one right answer on an exam.[4]
MagiVaca: Rinkai Gakkō Zenjitsu-hen
On the day before Miss Madeleine's class was to depart for the Valencia Beach Seaside School, Kirsch told Sesame that spending the summer there would make him a real man. Sesame assumed he would confess his love to Arancia, when in reality, he had his sights set on Candy. When Sesame explained that Candy already had a crush on one of their classmates, Kirsch anxiously tried to figure out whom, interrogating Cassis Lumberyard, Cidre Rainbow, and Cabernet Cheaptrick. None of them seemed to be Candy's crush, leading Kirsch to believe that Candy was going to confess her love to him.

After Magical Vacation
Kirsch married Arancia and had two children. He left the children in Arancia's care before embarking on an adventure across the world, and once he returned to Kovomaka Kingdom, he became an instructor at Will-o'-Wisp Academy.[5]

Trivia
- One of Kirsch's practical subjects at the Valencia Beach Seaside School was to light the campfire with his magic.[6]
- Although it is stated in the English fan translation that Kirsch has an older brother, this is a mistranslation of キルシュのアニキ Kirushu no Aniki, or "Big Bro Kirsch", a nickname given to him by Sesame.
- Kirsch's design, specifically his hairstyle, was repurposed from a scrapped character that Shinichi Kameoka designed for Magical Vacation. This character was going to be a professor at Will-o'-Wisp Academy and a companion of Madeleine, but was "transferred" and thus did not appear in the final game.[7]
Nomenclature
His name comes kirschwasser (lit. "cherry-water" in German), distilled cherry liquor.
