Magic points
Magic points, also known as magic power and abbreviated as MP, is a statistic in the Magical Vacation series.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
In combat, party members cast magic by spending MP in varying amounts. They can be replenished in several ways, most commonly through the MP% stat, which restores a character's MP by a percentage amount at the start of a turn. In Magical Vacation, enemies typically enter battle at half their maximum MP or less, assuming they are able to cast spells at all, whereas enemies in Magical Starsign cast magic without MP and thereby do not require an MP% stat.
Aside from MP%, MP can be recovered by:
- Eating gummy worms.
- Resting at an inn, the magic busMagical Vacation, or NeumannMagical Starsign.
- Spending one green frog to drink from an MP Pot.
- Casting angel's kiss on an allyMagical Vacation.
- Draining enemies' MP with dark magicMagical Vacation.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- When Miss Madeleine explains MP to the protagonist at Valencia Beach, she says 「MPって言うのは........有名なヒゲのおじさんのパーティゲームの略なんかじゃないぞ~。 ("MP can be described as...well, not the abbreviation of some popular moustached man's party game~"), in reference to the Mario Party series of video games.
