Blueberry Lakeside is a party member in Magical Vacation. 15 years old, she is a member of the prestigious House Lakeside and a user of the water spirit, enrolled as an honors student at Will-o'-Wisp Academy. She was born with a frail body, which has prevented her from following in her family's footsteps and becoming a magician who serves Kovomaka Kingdom's nobility. Blueberry is best friends with Lemon Airsupply, and they work together during their class's trip to the Valencia Beach Seaside School. However, when the class is transported to the Light Plane by enigmas, Blueberry, Lemon, and Pêche have to search Rēmittsu Palace to find a missing Café au Lait. Blueberry falls ill after the three are attacked, which compels her to be more honest about her condition and trust in her friends.
In the Japanese version of Magical Starsign, Blueberry is briefly referenced as a famous magician who graduated from Ambergris Preparatory School on Cassia, much like her distant relative Twigadamus (who is known as Pūregu Lakeside in Japan).[2]
Profile
Blueberry is a smart, diligent, and meticulous girl who devotes a lot of time to her schoolwork, and is continuously at the top of her class as a result. Unfortunately, her frail body prevents her from partaking in strenuous activities. She still tries taking on big responsibilities by herself despite the potential risks, not wanting to be a burden on her friends. Aside from studying, Blueberry enjoys learning various foreign languages, including the Aquarim Language, and keeping a detailed diary of her day-to-day life.[3] Her favorite food is pears.[4]
She has curly violet hair that is held up with a green headband, and has irises of a violet hue. For a torso, she wears a teal cape and purple shirt, and has a frilly skirt patterned with yellow triangles along her waist. Her platform shoes are colored purple with brown bases, and she also wears a pair of pink slouch socks.

Biography
Early life
For generations, House Lakeside produced several talented magicians who would go on to serve the royal family of Kovomaka Kingdom. Before Blueberry was born, a fortune-teller consulted her family, receiving visions of a future where she became an archmagician who changed the world. However, in order to serve the royal family, it was customary for her to excel in both literary and military arts. Blueberry was born with a frail body, meaning she had to forgo her royal duties. Informed by her parents that she would not live for very long, Blueberry would spend most of her time studying indoors. At the age of 7, she spent half a year on the Water Plane with her grandmother to search for water people,[5] and was also taught the ancient Aquarim Language by her grandmother.[6]
When Blueberry started attending Will-o'-Wisp Academy, Cabernet Cheaptrick and a group of boys stole her bag, until Lemon Airsupply came to her rescue and beat them up. Lemon was scolded for pummeling Cabernet afterwards, but she and Blueberry became inseparable best friends.[7] As for Blueberry, she demonstrated high intellect in academic theory, eventually becoming an honors student at the academy. While walking home with Lemon and Pêche Farmer one day, Blueberry accidentally stepped on a praying mantis, though she refused to tell Pêche because she knew it would make her upset. Lemon admitted to Blueberry that she squished a cricket, to which they shared a good laugh.

Blueberry traveled to the Water Plane to research water magic, and also deepened her bond with the remaining water people.[8]
Magical Starsign
Outside Ambergris Preparatory School on Cassia, the party could talk to a student named Corduroy. She listed Kale, Rogan Josh, Twigadamus, Biscotti, Biek Fowler, and Blueberry[a] as famous magicians who graduated from the institution, and asked if they had heard of any of them.[2]
Trivia
- Blueberry has 268 lines of dialogue, the most of any party member in the game. This is largely due to her many interactions with water people.
- Since Blueberry's backstory mentions how a fortune-teller (占い師) visited the Lakeside family before she was born, and Corduroy reveals that Twigadamus's surname is Lakeside in Japanese, this fortune-teller could possibly be Twigadamus.
- According to Shinichi Kameoka, Blueberry started wearing makeup on her 8th birthday.[9]
Nomenclature
Her name comes from blueberry, a sweet and sour fruit commonly used to make jams, juices, and pastries. As explained in Magical Vacation Complete Guide, Air Force pilots found that eating blueberries improved their eyesight while flying in the dark and helped alleviate fatigue.[3]
