- ―Grenadine
Grenadine is a character in the Magical Vacation series. He is an ingenious dwarf hailing from the Light Realm, once owning the Iko Domnag factory near Ufot Village. 800 years later, he moved his business to Condimen Tower on Razen, bordering Macaroon.
Profile
Personality
Grenadine is highly educated and machine-savvy, having produced all kinds of inventions that are distributed throughout the universe. His employees consider him ambitious and constantly in pursuit of greater heights.[1][2]
Appearance
Grenadine is a stout older-looking dwarf with a round nose and a thick, gray beard. Almost his entire body is obscured by his facial hair, as well as a green horned hard hat. He wears brass bracelets, and a pair of gray shoes.[1][2]
Biography
Early life
Long ago, Grenadine inherited the Iko Domnag factory from its previous manager, who had constructed the magic doll MD01-Tuna but lost it amidst a war over its possession.[3] During a different war, Grenadine crafted MD02-Bonito to fight among the soldiers. Bonito proved to be too powerful and claimed the lives of many, upon which Grenadine withdrew it from battle and left it with his old companion, a brownie living in the Abyssal Realm's Pyramid.[4]
Magical Vacation
After rescuing Latte from Parmesan in Tour de la Roche, Balsamico tasked the party with taking Latte to Iko Domnag. There, they would have Grenadine remodel Latte into a magic power generator, which could power the magic bus and allow it to warp across realms. They proceeded through Ufot Village and up Iko Domnag, taking down invading enigmas along the way. Reaching Grenadine's workshop, the party asked that he remodel Latte, to which Grenadine provided a long list of questions. Surely enough, Grenadine was convinced they were not enigmas trying to destroy the universe, but rather, wanted to save their classmates in the Dark Realm. To prove their strength, he had the party fight his tartar terrier, but they emerged victorious. Grenadine proceeded to remodel Latte as promised, after which the party resumed their adventure.[1]

No reason provided. |
At some point after Magical Vacation, Grenadine and his crew left the Light Realm[5] and relocated to the planet Razen, founding Condimen Tower[a] and the village of Macaroon near Habañero Volcano Road. Grenadine also began basing his works on philosophy rather than technology, borrowing knowledge from the archwizard Craaken's Book of the Darned.[6]
Nomenclature
His name comes from grenadine, a tart red syrup used in cocktails.

Trivia
- It is possible that Grenadine's design is based on Watts as he appears in Legend of Mana, since they are both dwarves with green horned hardhats.
Notes
- ↑ Regarding this location, there are some inconsistencies between the English localization of Magical Starsign and the English fan translation of Magical Vacation. In the Japanese versions of both games, both dwarf factories are called キード・モンダ Kīdo Monga (from がんもどき ganmodoki), meaning "Iko Domnag" should technically be called Condimen Tower in the English fan translation.
