Gâteau is a character in Magical Vacation. He is a love ambassador and the chief of Wakuti Village on the Light Plane, but was superseded by his son Tortilla. Tarte and Tatin serve as his bodyguards.
Profile
Being a love ambassador, Gâteau believes everything in the world comes from, and exists for the sake of, love. He is very kind to familiars and strangers alike, even if they have bad intentions.
Gâteau is short and has a scaly beige body, with a squinted face, lanky arms, and a knobbed tail. He sports pink garments with yellow fur around the neck area, as well as a big heart emblem over the chest.
Biography
Magical Vacation
After running into Tortilla, Tarte, and Tatin in the Java Sparrow Plains the party went to consult Gâteau in his house. There, he mentioned that he gave keys to Rēmittsu Palace to a trio of girls, revealed to be Blueberry, Lemon, and Pêche. According to Gâteau, they needed access to Rēmittsu Palace in order to save Café au Lait, as he ran away moments prior. Just as Gâteau gave the party their own key, he received a scolding from Tortilla, demanding to know why he would give palace keys to total strangers. Gâteau proclaimed it was an act of love, to which Tortilla stated he was no longer worthy of being Wakuti's chief. With the love wand in his possession, Tortilla declared chieftainship over Wakuti, vowing to protect it from enigmas. He then left with Tarte and Tatin, after which Gâteau apologized for his son's attitude.
The party followed Tortilla's troupe into Rēmittsu Palace and eventually vanquished the enigmas within. Learning the meaning of compassion, Tortilla abandoned Wakuti to go on a journey of self-discovery. Gâteau expressed concern over his son's whereabouts, but remained confident in the power of love.
Nomenclature
His name comes from gâteau, a French layered cake.
