Blackcurrant, also known as the Dark Archspirit, is a character in Magical Vacation. Presiding over dark space, it is a spirit who stands at the pinnacle of all other dark spirits. Blackcurrant resides in Rakyūo on the Death Plane and watches over the stars, the reincarnations of powerful magicians, before they ascend to the afterlife.
Profile
Despite its appearance, Blackcurrant is said to be a benevolent and calm entity. As the ruler of dark space, it offers guidance to those who find themselves lost in the darkness. Blackcurrant is also the creator of the stylish black set of equipment, having made using gold and dark extract, which suggests it has a sense of fashion.
Blackcurrant resembles the average dark spirit, but it has a purple squid-like body with four appendages, four orange eyes, and a pair of orange wings. Its mouth is also located between its eyes and wings.

Biography
Magical Vacation
To obtain a dark veil, the party disguised themselves with the light veil that was given to them in Moiroroto Village. Wearing the light veil allowed them to communicate with the stars scattered throughout Rakyūo, and by making all of them ascend, Blackcurrant appeared in the cavern. When talked to, Blackcurrant explained how the students were beings of light, while enigmas were beings of darkness, and that light and darkness would become one in the end. Rather than starting a battle, Blackcurrant gave the party a dark veil, which let them pass through the Death Corridor.
Nomenclature
Their name comes from blackcurrant, also known as cassis, sweet edible berries used for jams and syrups.
