Rogan Josh, known in Japan as Yuga Taba,[a] is a character in Magical Starsign. He hails from Erd's ancient tribe of yogart gurus, who have the power to manipulate their physical and spiritual forms to impossible degrees.
Profile[edit | edit source]
Personality[edit | edit source]
Rogan Josh has a firm nature and only ever speaks in truths. His vast understanding of the Baklava Solar System and its metaphysics is unequaled, given his status as a yogart guru, though he does take great fascination in finding even more knowledge.[1]
Appearance[edit | edit source]
Rogan Josh is a thin tan-skinned man with blood-orange eyes, a bindi on his glabella, and gold hoop earrings. He wears a turban made of gray fabric with a blue cloth in the middle, all of which are connected to a red jewel above his forehead. For clothing, Rogan Josh dons a gray toga and red armlets, and his ankles are covered by blue bandages. He moves around by crossing his legs and levitating.[1]

The party first meets Rogan Josh within Razen's Shishkebab Cavern, where he is hiding from Enigmas in a barrel. He introduces himself and inquires about the group's goal of saving the imprisoned magicians from Kale's clutches, then offers to aid them on their rescue mission. By using the power of yogart, he is able to squeeze his body through a sealed gate and open it from the other side. Rogan Josh and the others travel further in to see magicians locked in cells, to which the yogart guru says that Gil Mudflap of the Space Police is in possession of the key. After announcing their need to hurry, he floats down the tunnel as the students talk to "Farina" in another cell. Upon investigating further, it turns out that Beignet was arrested by the Space Police too after trying to chase down Chard's Astro Pirates. He uses his current predicament as proof of the two forces' collaboration, but remains optimistic nonetheless.[1]
