Elder Kettle is a stout pelike pot made of light blue porcelain with yellow swirl patterns. He has baggy blue-green eyes, a round nose, bushy gray eyebrows, and a handlebar moustache.

Every two hundred years, Elder Kettle and Terra Cotta were tasked with imbuing new potfolk with life during Paella's Starfall Festival. While Celadon crafted the potfolks' vessels, Elder Kettle recited a special prayer to the falling stars, which gave the pots sentience.[1] Elder Kettle also became acquainted with the magician pot Celadon, who formed a barrier around Paella to keep the villagers safe from enigmas,[2] to which he was entrusted with carrying the glaze needed for the Starfall Festival.
