Biography[edit | edit source]
Magical Starsign[edit | edit source]
The party encountered Persimmon in Salamander Cave on Gren, who boasted about his role as the astro pirates' "embellisher," tasked with bringing any magicians he found to the pirate town Assam. After Durum, Farina, and Semolina were exiled from Tropica Village, Persimmon prepared to take Farina to Assam, seeing as she was a magician; unbeknownst to him, Durum had Farina and Semolina to swap identities to keep the former safe, and to restore his credibility among Tropica's felins. The students would chase Pico and Sorbet into Assam, where Persimmon and a band of pirate otters prepared to set sail to Razen with "Farina" in tow. Persimmon unleashed the peacock fish upon the group, though after it was defeated, he and "Farina" hopped aboard his ship and took off into space. At the last second, Sorbet leapt off the dock and joined the pirates on their voyage to Razen.
After the students reunited with Sorbet later on, the ventured to Cassia in search of the water millennium gummy. At Port Pescato's harbor, they spotted Persimmon and Caldarroste discussing plans to improve their reputation among Chard's underlings. According to the two, the Space Police were attempting to claim treasure hidden by pirates, but argued that the treasure belonged solely to Cassia. They sailed together to Granule Island and eventually arrived at Holy Water Pyramid, where a squadron of Space Policemen led by Abalon Demar were attempting to take the water gummy. Once Demar was defeated, the squadron evacuated, allowing Caldarroste to steal the gummy while no one was looking. However, he and Persimmon got into an argument over its ownership outside the pyramid, though Persimmon managed to run off with it. Luckily, Parfait ambushed him and tied him up with rope, to which the students retrieved the gummy.
Persimmon and Caldarroste continued to pursue the students, eventually returning to Razen during the astro pirates and Space Police's invasion. They arrived in the rocket hangar atop Condimen Tower, watching as the students boarded a fully upgraded Neumann. Before lifting off, Persimmon urged his ally to sneak on board, but warned him not to face their adversaries head-on. Caldarroste asked about a "design flaw" Persimmon mentioned that could give the pirates the upper hand, when suddenly, the roof of the hangar opened up. With no time left, Persimmon pushed Caldarroste onto the wing of Neumann before it blasted off to the Nova, stowing away in a secret compartment.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Persimmon's species is never identified, though Pico calls him a crocodile, both in English and Japanese.[1]
- Although the English localization claims Persimmon is Chard's 432nd-in-command, he is simply a low-ranking pirate in the Japanese version.[2]
