Biography

Magical Starsign

The party first met Brioche at the Space Police HQ on Puffoon, spotting him partaking in the receptionists' "barrel-rotating game."[a] They later found him in Quinoa Plain after watching Chai flee from the Space Police. Brioche informed them that Chai had ran off with secret police documents, and invited them to the rabbits' village of Honey Mint. The students arrived in the village shortly thereafter, to which Brioche revealed his dream of opening a restaurant in the big city, having saved two million bira to make it come true. He then brought them to his house, where Chai happily reunited with his classmates and let them read the stolen documents. Shocked to see Miss Madeleine on the list, Brioche suggested they seek help from Twigadamus, the village's local clairvoyant.

Suddenly, Lieutenant Mugwort and Brie Pourri of the Space Police swooped in to arrest Chai. While Brie flew away with Chai, Mugwort fought against the students and lost. He then threatened to charge them for assaulting an officer, to which Cresson took Brioche's piggy bank and offered it as compensation. Mugwort accepted the bribe and returned to Bena Rikashi, to the devastation of Brioche. Twigadamus arrived afterwards, assuring Brioche that his dream was still destined to come true. When the party rescued Chai from the Space Police HQ, they could also reclaim the piggy bank and return it to Brioche. In doing so, Brioche exclaimed that he no longer needed the money, as Honey Mint's villagers wanted to revert to a modest, pre-Bena Rikashi lifestyle.

Notes

  1. In Japanese, it is called the "washbasin pass-around game" (タライマワサレゲーム tarai mawasare gēmu). This is attributed to the expression 盥回し tarai mawashi (lit. "pass the washbasin around"), which refers to a department handing off problems to another department in order to evade responsibility.
