Nova, known in Japan as Shari,[a] is the planet of light in Magical Starsign. It resides within the Baklava solar system's sun, sharing the same physical space as Shadra but in a parallel dimension. The planet is made entirely of plasma and limestone, and its landmass continuously changes with the irregular movements of plasmatic energy.
Orbit
Nova emerges when the sun is active in the daytime, causing users of light magic to enter their aura state. Since the sun's inner planets do not revolve in an orbit like the other planets, Nova and Shadra swap positions every 3 minutes.[1]

History
Nova was one of, if not the first planet to exist in the Baklava system, having formed at the universe's center by the queen of light during the big bang. Several hundred million years before Magical Starsign, a wood person named Vermicelli arrived on Nova while venturing through Baklava. He entered the sun and met the queen of light, and as they shared a song, Vermicelli became overwhelmed by his own insecurity. He fled to a cave and sang the song of death, summoning a legion of monsters and sparking war across the five planets. To quell their fear, the people of Baklava sang their own song, which gave life to the planet Kovomaka. The queen of life created life for Kovomaka, then cast it to the solar system's outskirts.
Millions of years later, an orbiting neutron star called Shadra experienced a peak in energy, causing a gummy-based sun to form around it. Shadra's sun and Nova's sun proceeded to merge together, creating the parallel dimensions in which they would reside. The moment they merged, the Starway, Phunnel Pit, and Glissini Caves were spontaneously created to bridge their dimensional gap.[2][1]
Trivia
- Its English name comes from 'nova', an event in which a star is stripped of its elements by a white dwarf.
- Its Japanese name, Shareer, comes from the Indian word शरीर shareer, meaning 'body', and is used to describe white rice that resemble the bones of Buddhist saints. Alternatively, it comes from 銀舎利 gin shari, a Japanese slang term for white rice.
- Nova's Japanese name, Shareer (シャリィ Sharyi), is also the name of a potfolk from Oturan Village in Magical Vacation. However, it is more directly translated as Shari in the English fan translation.
