Magic is a concept in the Magical Vacation series.

Profile

In the Magical Vacation series universe, magic is the study of how consciousness and matter interact. Those who invoke magic are known as magicians (魔術師) or magic-users (魔法使い), who cast spells by altering the laws of physics and manipulating natural environments. The spells available to magicians are determined by their inherent attribute, represented by a spirit or a planet's starsign. Canonically, there are an infinite number of attributes, as when a new concept is brought into existence, so are a plane of reality and spirit representing that attribute.

All living beings are said to be born with the love attribute, but as they become accustomed to society and develop unique identities, they acquire their own attributes. There are also forms of magic that do not belong to a particular attribute, such as warp magic, which allows instantaneous travel around and between planes within the universe. Powerful magicians are seemingly able to extend their lifespans with magic as well, and even preserve their physical appearances. Some people and species are naturally unable to conjure magic like a magician, namely dwarves and salamanders, but they still have an attribute of some sort.

The known spirit attributes are fire, wind, poison, beauty, blade, sound, stone, insect, wood, beast, water, thunder, ancient, dark, light, and love.

The known starsign attributes are fire, wood, wind, earth, water, dark, light, and no affiliation.
