Odd beetle is a boss in Magical Starsign. It is fought at Couscous Ruins on Puffoon.
Profile
Odd beetle is a very large insect with many sharp legs, mandibles, and eyes. It has a brown body with a red pattern, and four wings protruding from its back.
Boss
Despite having the light starsign, odd beetle does not possess any spells, but still gains its aura when Nova emerges in the day.
It has the physical skill binding sickle, which attacks a random member of the party. Using sleeping cocoon, it may temporarily remove a party member from the battle. While it has its cocoon, it can use the skill riot cocoon to deal damage to all party members. It may also perform cocoon bust, which does the same while returning the party member it originally took to the battle. In order to boost its power, it can also use fighting dance.
Due to its heightened physical resist and magical resist, odd beetle takes slightly less damage from both physical and magic attacks.[1]

What manner of insect is this? A mutation? Or is it perhaps the result of some experiment?

History
The odd beetle locks onto
Brie Pourri, while her father desperately attempts to free her.
The odd beetle was first mentioned by Brie Pourri after the party fought her at Couscous Ruins, to which she said it was created by Kale at the behest of King Suspiro, and that it fed off gummies for power. After Knucklestorm caught up with the party in the ruins' final chamber, he cautioned them that the odd beetle was approaching their location. When it arrived and began attacking the group, Knucklestorm's daughter, Pourri, arrived to defend them. As she turned away from the large monster, it locked its fore-legs onto her Space Police saucer, locking her in place. After Knucklestorm instructed the protagonist to press the release button on the device, Pourri was freed, but was simultaneously struck by the beetle's claws.
At this point, the large creature turned away from Knucklestorm and Pourri, engaging the party in battle directly. Upon defeating it, the party was immediately alerted to Pourri, although she had already died in her father's arms. When Mokka informed Knucklestorm of this after detecting that her heart had stopped, he began to rant about his loss in despair, recollecting about his initial opposition to Pourri joining the Space Police. Following this, the odd beetle's corpse began to flash brightly, eventually revealing itself as the wind millennium gummy. When exposed, the gummy's energy ultimately resurrected Pourri, much to the joy and confusion of her father. The party then took possession of the item.
