Chiboust Castle
Chiboust Castle is a location mentioned in Magical Vacation. Located in Kovomaka Kingdom on the Material Plane, it is a fortress where magicians who fused with enigmas are imprisoned.
History
One year before Magical Vacation, Vanilla Nighthawk's body and mind were taken over by an enigma that she fused with at Valencia Beach two years prior. Soldiers from Kovomaka Kingdom were sent to deal with Vanilla, but two hundred of them, including her former lover Chardonnay Cheaptrick, were killed in battle. The conflict escalated to a point where Biscotti had to intervene, using his magic to seal Vanilla inside Chiboust Castle. For the next year, she remained in the castle under high security.
After the party defeated Kerurendu, Vanilla's brother Ganache spent half a year recruiting enigma-possessed magicians, forming the Biscotti Sect. Once the sect seized control of Kovomaka Kingdom, Ganache went to Chiboust Castle to meet his sister. Vanilla prepared to fight Ganache, but when he arrived, he stated that he was content despite losing everything, including his magic. Brought to tears, Vanilla was released from Chiboust Castle, choosing to forgo magic and join the Biscotti Sect. Thus, Kovomaka entered an era of peace that would last for two hundred years.
Nomenclature
Its name comes from chiboust, a pastry cream lightened with Italian meringue.
