Shadra, known in Japan as Romashuma,[a] is the planet of darkness in Magical Starsign. It resides within the Baklava solar system's sun, sharing the same physical space as Nova but in a parallel dimension. Several hundred million years ago, after a second sun formed around Shadra, it was absorbed into Nova's sun. Around this time, there was a dimensional rift below the surface of Nova that lead to Shadra's domain, until an interplanar collision between plasma and matter sealed it shut. Luckily, the suns' merge formed the Starway, which allowed for travel between the two dimensions.

Orbit[edit | edit source]

Shadra emerges when the sun is inactive at nighttime, causing users of dark magic to enter their aura state. Since the sun's inner planets do not revolve in an orbit like the other planets, Shadra and Nova swap positions every 3 minutes.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Its name may be derived from 'shade', in reference to its element of darkness. Alternatively, it could come from चन्द्र chandra, the Sanskrit word for 'moon'.
  • Its Japanese name, Romashuma, comes from マシュマロ mashumaro, the phonetic spelling for 'marshmallow'.
  • Unlike Nova, Shadra's landmass contains no plasma, which classifies it as a neutron star.
  • Shadra is the only planet without civilization.
