Puppets are a race in Magical Vacation. They are sentient dolls who inhabit Torūna Village in the Light Plane.
Profile
Puppets are humanoid beings with wooden bodies, with round eyes, long arms, and rings for ears. Male puppets typically do not wear tops, though can be seen wearing overshirts. A puppet's physical appearance is determined from the moment they are born, and their bodies do not change as they age.[1] Their life spans are also affected by the plane they are born on; puppets from the Light Plane can live for eternity without aging, while those from other planes do not live nearly as long. The only way puppets from the Light Plane can die is if their bodies are broken.
Light Plane puppets care little for their own mortality and are quick to accept their inevitable deaths. Culturally, they believe in a monotheistic god who has laid out their irrefutable fate.[2] Puppets have hearts despite not having circulatory systems, which implies that their hearts are instruments of sentience rather than blood-pumping organs. They also lack semicircular canals, which allows them to spin at high speeds without getting dizzy.[3]

Trivia
- In the Japanese version, ordinary organic hearts are called 心 kokoro, while puppets' hearts are called ハート hāto, possibly referring to how puppets have "hearts" in a more symbolic sense.
