Kovomaka[a] is the planet of magic in the Magical Vacation series, located on the Baklava solar system's outskirts. Its inhabitants know very little of Baklava's other planets, and likewise, people of the other planets know little of Kovomaka. A large continent on this planet contains Will-o'-Wisp Academy and the Kingdom of Kovomaka, where esteemed magicians keep politics and culture alive.

History[edit | edit source]

According to myth, Kovomaka was created millions of years ago amidst a war between the planets of the Baklava system. People from all over sang a song of hope and brought Kovomaka to life, which the queen of light cast to Baklava's outskirts.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Its name comes from 蒲鉾 'kamaboko',[b] processed fish cake commonly used in holiday meals.
  • Kovomaka is the only spherical planet in the Baklava system.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Japanese: コヴォマカ, Hepburn: Kovomaka
  2. "V" and "B" sounds are interchangeable in Japanese. Rearranging kamaboko without alterations would be こぼまか kobomaka.
