Biography
Early life
Tektos was the sole survivor among nine stone giants who lived on Erd, all of whom were killed in a devastating war against the Espresso civilization thousands of years ago. At some point, he befriended Shallot the elder brownie, and the pyrite town Uponisbak was built upon his back.
Magical Starsign
On their quest to find the five millennium gummies, the party traveled across eastern Erd to escape numerous Space Police officers commanded by Magnus Muzzleflash. The chase ended at Plateau of the Giant where a small hangar was located, and the party was nearly struck by Muzzleflash's storm of bombs. Luckily, the whole fleet retreated when Muzzleflash ran out of ammo. With little time left to spare, the group struggled to think of an escape plan. They all turned to Mokka, whose engines began to quake as he uncontrollably announced orders to attack a stone giant in the distance. He went to touch the hanger's door, but Pico barged in and pushed Mokka over. In control of himself again, Mokka walked up to the door again and opened it.
As the party set foot inside the hangar, they discovered a strange machine propped up on a launch pad. An alarm blared throughout the interior and declared that the "spinning flight machine" was ready for takeoff. Sorbet questioned the contraption's flight capabilities, as it was merely a pod attached to a drill-shaped propeller. With a solution in mind, Lassi stepped on the launchpad and summoned her wild magic, causing the propeller to move incredibly fast. The students hurried and boarded the machine while the hangar's roof opened, letting Lassi's turbulent winds guide them towards Uponisbak.
Just as the kids were about to enter the tunnel beneath Uponisbak, a trio of officers flew in, but Muzzleflash's bombs carelessly rained down and left them incapacitated. The students fled through the Path of Five Organs within Tektos's upper body, eventually coming across a rope leading to his skull. There, they met Shallot and the disembodied voice of Tektos. Shallot was caught up on the kids' situation and how they must access Nova, to which he responded by explaining the etherealization phenomenon. He then alerted them about Muzzleflash's impending arrival, suggesting no one used magic until the threat was gone, though Tektos encouraged the contrary. Complying with Tektoa's wishes, the unleashing of wild magic caused the titan's head to tremble and catch the Space Police's attention. Magnus Muzzleflash descended onto Tektos's cheekbone, then a fight ensued between him and the six students. Muzzleflash was unable to stand against their magic, but he did not give up. A couple of troops rushed in, reporting to Muzzleflash that the earth gummy was likely somewhere inside the Kahve Ruins after their forensics team detected strong energy inside. The update convinced Muzzleflash that Tektos was no longer of use to him, so he flew up and prepared to ram straight through the giant's body.
Shallot reminded Tektos of Muzzleflash's special armor, which was expertly crafted by the dwarves of Razen using Craaken's methods. Tektos ignored Shallot's pleas, saying he would be able to penetrate it with the planet's power, as well as a fraction of Mokka's wild magic. The giant aimed at Muzzleflash and launched a searing hot beam into space, narrowly missing the Kahve Ruins, and instantly vaporizing Muzzleflash. However, the immense power caused Tektos's body to crumble and sink into Erd's sands. In his final moments, he ordered Shallot to give the students his soul, the earth millennium gummy.
Trivia
- An unused map of the game features an alternate layout of Tektos's skull, which contains eyes with veins that connect to a brain.
Nomenclature
His name is likely in reference to plate tectonics, a theory explaining the formation of landmasses as a result of subterranean movements.
