The queen of light is a character in the lore of Magical Starsign. She is the ruler of Nova, and is said to personify the big bang that created the universe and the Baklava solar system.
Biography
The queen of light was a being who created the Magical Vacation series universe, whose existence was attributed to the big bang.[1] Enveloped in the song of the beginning,[2] she produced the Baklava solar system on the Material Plane with the sun at its heart, which contained the planet of the light starsign, Nova. To maintain her rule over the light planet, the queen would undergo periods of reincarnation whenever she passed away, and eventually return to her throne in Sparklin Palace under a completely new identity.[3] During the intervals between lifetimes, which would last for several thousands of years, the queen's luminite servants were tasked with upholding her rules in her absence.[4] However, it was said that if the queen remembered how she created the world, she would chant the song of the end.[5]
Billions of years ago, the queen of light was met by Vermicelli, a wood person hailing from a distant planet. Vermicelli sang the song of the beginning to her, but his heavy body and drudging voice made him insecure in her presence. The queen, on the other hand, encouraged Vermicelli and joined his chorus until he could no longer stand to be there. He retreated to a cave and sensed his own death, which pushed him to sing the song of the end. This melody spread chaos throughout the universe and sparked war across the five planets. When all hope seemed lost, people from all over the universe sang their own song, focusing their light at one central point. This light produced Kovomaka, the planet of hope, which the queen created life for and sent to the far reaches of space.
Magical Starsign
When the students of Will-o'-Wisp Academy reached Nova, a luminite named Filamen introduced them to the queen of light in essence, stating she had passed nearly 1,000 years ago[6] and had reincarnated on another planet. Filamen noted that before her passing, the queen ordered the luminites to prevent anyone from using the Starway to reach Shadra. The queen also wished for visitors to receive her blessing, which compelled Filamen to give the students full access to Sparklin Palace.
Trivia
- In the commercial for Magical Starsign, the phrase "a queen absent for 1,000 years" (１０００年不在の女王) is written on a chalkboard, referring to the queen of light.[7]
- In the Japanese version, Filamen states that nearly 1,000 years have passed since the queen's death.[6] This was drastically shortened to 100 years in the English localization.[8]
