Biek Fowler is a boss character in Magical Starsign. He is the Space Police's chief martial arts advisor and a former student of Macadameus.

Profile

Fowler acts from experience, keeping himself of proper composure during the more tense confrontations, but also has a violent disposition. He is very faithful to his superiors, taking the most extreme of measures to fulfill their tasks. Alongside this, he is confident in his abilities and straightforward to his adversaries. In Japanese, he laughs in a way that resembles shushing (シシシシシ, shishishishishi), which is changed to clucking in the English localization.

He resembles a European white rooster in that he is a full white color with long, hanging feathers and a large crest. His hands and feet are similar to the talons of a hawk, his hands having three digits each, his feet having four. He wears a dark green robe that resembles a paofu, and pants of the same color underneath. He wears a spiked Space Police glider on his backside.

Biography

Early life

At some point, Fowler graduated from Ambergris Preparatory School on Cassia, and later trained under Master Macadameus, whom he eventually surpassed. His dubious techniques not only made him one of the Baklava system's best magicians, but also proved useful after becoming the Space Police's top martial arts advisor. He eventually joined Kale, a politically-inclined magician and King Suspiro's former right-hand man, in his grand scheme to destroy the universe. Fowler devoted himself to Kale's nihilistic ideologies, recognizing that Suspiro and the Baklava system's people were too incompetent to keep the world alive. With the Space Police secretly working alongside Chard's astro pirates, Fowler began apprehending magicians so they could be delivered to Shishkebab Cavern on Razen.

Magical Starsign

During Miss Madeleine's mission on Puffoon, she followed Kale though the Couscous Ruins, crossing paths with Fowler and a unit of SP officers. Fowler declared that Madeleine was really a pawn in Kale's scheme, confident that her admirers would foolishly come to her rescue. Refusing to back down, Madeleine unleashed her magic to dispel the other officers. Fowler applauded the sorceress, expecting as much from Kale's mentor on Kovomaka. However, Fowler gained the upper hand against Madeleine and arrested her, after which she was transferred to Razen and held captive by the astro pirates.

Around three months later, Madeleine's students took of into outer space to save her. The protagonist, Lassi, Mokka, and Chai (and Pico, if Gren was visited beforehand) gathered in Honey Mint on Puffoon, where Chai presented stolen Space Police documents. Upon reading through the paperwork, the students found out that it was actually a list of abducted magicians, one of whom was Madeleine with Fowler cited as the arresting officer. After reuniting with Sorbet, the students explored the Couscous Ruins in search of the wind gummy, witnessing a mirage that replayed Fowler's previous confrontation with Madeleine.

Later on, as the students defended Paella from the Space Police, they planned on returning to Condimen Tower to board an upgraded Neumann. However, Detective Beignet warned them not to leave the town yet, to which Fowler arrived and called him a traitor to the force. He tucked himself into his glider, but before he could launch himself at the students, Beignet jumped in and took the blow. While Beignet laid wounded on the ground, Brie Pourri flew into the village, forced Fowler back with her sword, then used her magic to send the group up to Condimen Tower. Fowler coldly laughed at Brie, having exposed her treachery as well. Amidst the chaos, Fowler seized an etherealization machine from the dwarves and used it to escape, following the students as they blasted off into the sun.

Fowler intercepted the students yet again, this time at the Starway beneath Sparklin Palace. He blocked the entrance to the dimensional gap, revealing his possession of the etherealization device. The students fought him and won, allowing them to meet Grenadine inside the Starway where he tried activating the warping platform. As the students waited to be warped to Shadra, Fowler arrived and threatened to end their journey by thrusting them all into the dimensional gap. He declared his loyalty to Kale's goal of destroying the Baklava system, until he was suddenly struck by Farina's magic. Durum, Farina, and Apitos rushed into the chamber while Grenadine continued to repair the platform. Their good-bye was disrupted when Mokka detected a dimensional bomb inside Fowler's glider, so to save the students, Durum picked it up and hurried outside. The students were powerless to do anything, as when they heard the bomb detonate, they were warped into Shadra's dimension. To their relief, they found Durum alive after returning from the dark planet.

Fowler saying "Not like this!" (これは違う, kore wa chigau) in Japanese

• In the Japanese version of the game, Fowler seems to say "Not like this!" (これは違う, kore wa chigau) when he is defeated, which was removed in the English localization.
• Fowler's line during his confrontation with Madeleine, "Hah hah! I see that you are indeed your teacher's student." is a mistranslation. In Japanese, he actually exclaims he expected as much from Kale's mentor, implying that Kale warned him about Madeleine before.
• Fowler is the only enemy fought at the Starway.
• Alongside Chard, he is one of the only villains who dies by his own hand.

His name comes from fowl, birds eaten by humans, otherwise referred to as poultry.
