- "How can you say that? They need just a little nudge at the right direction. That's it! If we must fight, bring it on!"
- ―Brie
Brie Pourri is a boss character in Magical Starsign. She is the inspector of Bena Rikashi's Space Police, and the daughter of ex-policeman General Knucklestorm, having joined the force to follow in his footsteps.
Profile
Personality
Brie does her duty exceptionally, and has a greater sense of justice than most Space Police officers. However, her allegiance to the force makes her blind to its true, corrupt nature.
Appearance
The disk on Brie's back is pink and heart-shaped, as opposed to other officers with a round, gray disk. She uses a rapier as a weapon, wears white gloves, and white boots with purple stockings. What little other clothing she wears is fuchsia. Her hair is blonde, although it is mentioned by some officers that she may have dyed it.
Boss
Pourri has the wind starsign, gaining her aura when Puffoon is in phase.
She possesses the spell wind talon, dealing damage to every member of the party with a chance to inflict dizzy. She can also cast the neutral spell celestial swap, allowing her to manipulate the alignment of planets to her advantage.
She can use the skill cyclone waltz to remove a party member from the battle for three turns, as they are subject to the blown status effect. After the third turn, they will be returned to the battle using drop, dealing damage in the process. Additionally, she uses the skill sonic sabre as a primary physical attack. Pourri has the unique ability to perform two actions on her turns.[1]

Biography
Early life
Some time ago, Brie was recruited into the Space Police and became the captain of the Gren Security Patrol. However, her father Knucklestorm chose to leave the police force after Kale seized it from King Suspiro's control. Kale's dubious philosophies corrupted the force's sense of justice, so to distance himself from their crusade across the Baklava solar system, Knucklestorm left Bena Rikashi and migrated to the Couscous Ruins.
Magical Starsign
The party was first introduced to Brie when the protagonist, Lassi, and Mokka (and Pico if Gren was visited beforehand) arrived on Puffoon, and attempted to file Miss Madeleine as a missing person at the Space Police HQ. Their efforts were for naught, as each officer in the building, including Brie, disregarded their pleas for help. Following some more commotion around the city, the party traveled south to Honey Mint and reunited with Chai, who had stolen secret police documents before fleeing Bena Rikashi. Upon examining the documents, it turned out they that were actually lists of magicians abducted by the astro pirates. One of the listed names was Madeleine, with the arresting officer being cited as Biek Fowler. Suddenly, Brie flew in to seize Chai, while the stand-in police chief, Lieutenant Mugwort, fended off against the party. After defeating Mugwort and consulting the local prophet Twigadamus, the group obtained the tempus forget and unleashed it in the Space Police HQ, temporarily numbing the minds of every officer inside. They quickly rushed to the top floor and freed Chai from a chest which Brie had locked him in.
Later on, when the party was in search of the wind millennium gummy in Couscous Ruins, they encountered Brie yet again, who said she arrived to talk with her father. She then ordered the students to leave, since Couscous Ruins supposedly contained things that would tarnish the Space Police's public image. Pico argued against the force's credibility, to which Brie said all they needed was a push in the right direction, then challenged the party to a battle. Upon losing the fight, she gathered strong gales in an attempt to annihilate the students, but Knucklestorm swooped in before she could do so. Brie revealed to Knucklestorm that Suspiro wished for him to rejoin the Space Police. Frustrated at how brainwashed his daughter had become, Knucklestorm refused to believe Suspiro had changed at all, then flew away to another part of the ruins. Brie began to reminisce, also explaining to the party that Suspiro had ordered Kale to create a gummy-eating creature to protect the ruins.
Reaching the end of the dungeon, Sorbet explained to Knucklestorm that the party was searching for the wind gummy. Suddenly, the odd beetle stormed into the room, but Brie ran in before Knucklestorm could fight it. The beetle tried to pierce Brie's glider, to which Knucklestorm stabbed it with his sword and told her to activate the armor's emergency release. Brie's glider soon gave way to the odd beetle's claw, and it charged at the party. Fortunately, they were able to take it down, but Mokka failed to detect Brie's heartbeat after the battle. As Knucklestorm grieved over all that had been taken from him, the odd beetle disappeared to reveal the wind gummy. Its power miraculously brought Brie back to life, and the party retrieved it as Knucklestorm and Brie shared a hug, vowing to bring justice back to the Space Police.
Once the party obtained all five millennium gummies, they returned to Condimen Tower on Razen, when Space Police and pirates suddenly invaded the planet. They dealt with several SP officers in Paella and were eventually met by Biek Fowler, who prepared to attack them. Detective Beignet, now recognized as a traitor to the force, stepped in and took the blow. As Fowler was about to prepare a second attack, Brie soared in and pushed him away, flying the students back up to Condimen Tower with her magic.
The students would not see Brie Pourri again until their journey through Shadra. She, Knucklestorm, Parfait, and Rogan Josh were able to bring several SP officers back to their senses, commanding them to defeat pirates and enigmas across the dark planet. When the party defeated Shadra in the depths of Chromagar Cave, they brought forth a light that shone throughout Baklava, but tearfully parted ways with Miss Madeleine. With Chromagar Cave rid of Shadra and the ambient gummy fumes, Brie and Knucklestorm flew in to escort the students out of the cave. They sailed their ships back to Bena Rikashi, where the Space Police and Suspiro bid them farewell before their return to Kovomaka.
After Magical Starsign
After returning to Kovomaka from outer space, Sorbet was awarded a full scholarship from Will-o'-Wisp Academy. She joined the Space Police upon graduating, and worked alongside Brie and Knucklestorm to restore the force's honor.
Trivia
- In the Japanese version, she has one voice line that was removed overseas. This is "Here we go!" (いくぞー Ikuzō), which she says at the start of battle.
- Her English besitary entry identifies her as the chief of the Space Police, when this is not the case in the original Japanese version. Brie is a police inspector (警部 keibu), while Abalon Demar is the chief (署長 shochō).
- Brie's red, pink, and yellow color scheme is meant to reflect her original Japanese name, ナジョ・ドルーゴ Najo Dorūgo, which comes from the ジョナゴールド Jonagōrugo (Jonagold) apple. Likewise, Knucklestorm's color scheme and Japanese name, ジフンサー Jifunsā, are based on the サンふじ San Fuji (San Fuji) apple.
- Brie speaks the series' last-ever line of dialogue, that being, "Yes, sir!" upon reaching Chromagar Cave with Knucklestorm.
