Brie Pourri is a character in Magical Starsign. A user of the wind starsign, she is the inspector of Bena Rikashi's Space Police and the leader of the Gren Security Patrol. She is also the daughter of former infantryman General Knucklestorm, who left after she was recruited, sensing King Suspiro's incompetence and Kale's corrupt influence on the organization.[1] Brie follows orders to subdue Chai when he arrives on Puffoon, and later searches for her father in the Couscous Ruins to convince him to rejoin the Space Police.
Profile
Brie does her duty exceptionally, and has a greater sense of justice than most Space Police officers. However, her allegiance to the force makes her blind to its true, corrupt nature. She is always prepared to face trouble head-on, even if it means putting herself in danger, but does whatever she can for the greater good.
Brie has magenta eyes, pink lipstick, and flowing honey-blonde hair that reaches down to her ankles and covers part of her face. For clothing, Brie sports a collared coral pink top with purple and orange trim. She also wears silver pauldrons, a silver belt with pink garments, purple suspender stockings with gold and red buckles, gray knee-high boots and gloves, and a cerise heart-shaped glider. Her choice of weapon is a rapier.

Biography
Early life
Some time ago, Brie was recruited into the Space Police as an inspector and captain of the Gren Security Patrol. However, her father Knucklestorm chose to leave the police force after Kale had seized it from King Suspiro's control. Kale's philosophies corrupted the force's sense of justice, so to distance himself from their crusade across the Baklava solar system, Knucklestorm left Bena Rikashi and settled in the Couscous Ruins, abandoning both his king and his daughter.
Magical Starsign
The students first encountered Brie when the protagonist, Lassi, and Mokka (and Pico if Gren was visited beforehand) arrived on Puffoon. They attempted to report Miss Madeleine as a missing person at the Space Police HQ, but their efforts were for naught as each officer in the building, including Brie, disregarded their concerns. The students later traveled south to Honey Mint and reunited with Chai, who had stolen top-secret police documents from their HQ. The documents turned out to be lists of magicians taken by the astro pirates, among them being Miss Madeleine, arrested by Biek Fowler. Suddenly, Brie flew in to seize Chai, while the stand-in police chief Lieutenant Mugwort fought the students. After defeating Mugwort and consulting Twigadamus, the group obtained the tempus forget and unleashed it in the Space Police HQ, briefly dumbfounding every officer inside. They quickly rushed to the top floor and freed Chai from a chest which Brie had locked him in.

Later on, Brie contacted the students on behalf of King Suspiro, who wished to meet them in his palace. Suspiro told them about Kale's past and plot to destroy the Baklava solar system, after which they set out to pursue the wind millennium gummy in the Couscous Ruins. Meeting Brie in Quinoa Plain, she told the students that she planned on going to the ruins to find her father. She also warned that if they crossed paths, she would not let them off scot-free.
At a clearing in the Couscous Ruins, Brie intercepted the students and ordered them to leave, stating the ruins contained a secret that would tarnish the Space Police's public image if exposed. Pico argued that the force had already fallen from grace, to which Brie exclaimed all they needed was a push in the right direction, then challenged the group to a battle. Upon losing the fight, she gathered strong gales to eliminate the students, but Knucklestorm swooped in before she could do so. Brie revealed to Knucklestorm that Suspiro wished for him to rejoin the Space Police. Frustrated at how brainwashed his daughter had become, Knucklestorm refused to believe Suspiro had changed at all, then flew away to another part of the ruins. As Brie reflected on her father's resignation from the police force, she explained to the students that Kale created an insect to protect the ruins with Suspiro's approval. The insect supposedly devoured all the gummies inside, meaning there was no wind gummy for them to find. As Brie mentioned how a young magician previously visited the ruins to investigate, the students quickly realized she was talking about Miss Madeleine. They pressed Brie for information, leading her to explain the credentials and power of Madeleine's captor, Biek Fowler.
Reaching the end of the ruins, Sorbet explained to Knucklestorm that the party was searching for the wind gummy. Suddenly, the odd beetle stormed into the room, but Brie ran in before Knucklestorm could fight it. The beetle tried to pierce Brie's glider, to which Knucklestorm stabbed it with his sword and told her to activate the armor's emergency release. Brie's glider soon gave way to the odd beetle's claw, and it charged at the party. Fortunately, they were able to take it down, but Mokka failed to detect Brie's heartbeat after the battle. As Knucklestorm grieved over all that had been taken from him, the odd beetle disappeared to reveal the wind gummy. Its power miraculously brought Brie back to life, and the party retrieved it as Knucklestorm and Brie shared a hug, vowing to bring justice back to the Space Police.
Once the party obtained all five millennium gummies, they returned to Condimen Tower on Razen, when Space Police and pirates suddenly invaded the fire planet. They dealt with several SP officers in Paella and eventually ran into Biek Fowler, who prepared to attack them. Detective Beignet, now recognized as a traitor to the force, leapt in and took the blow. As Fowler prepared a second attack, Brie soared in and thrusted him away, flying the students back up to Condimen Tower with her magic. Brie promised to hold Fowler off, buying the students enough time to board their rocket and enter the sun.
The students did not see Brie again until they touched down on Shadra, where she informed them that Knucklestorm, Parfait, and Rogan Josh were safe and brought a number of SP officers back to their senses, commanding them to defeat pirates and enigmas across the dark planet. Once the party defeated Shadra in the depths of Chromagar Cave, they brought forth a light that shone throughout Baklava, but tearfully parted ways with Miss Madeleine. Brie, fending off robots with Knucklestorm and Grenadine, was surprised to see the robots activate a subsystem powered by the intense light, no longer needing gummy matter to operate. With Chromagar Cave rid of Shadra and the ambient gummy fumes, Brie and Knucklestorm flew in to escort the students out of the cave. They sailed their ships back to Bena Rikashi, where the Space Police and Suspiro bid them farewell before they returned to Kovomaka.
After Magical Starsign

After returning to Kovomaka, Sorbet continued to study at Will-o'-Wisp as a scholarship student, and enlisted in the Space Police shortly after graduating. She quickly rose through the ranks, leading a complete reform of the organization alongside Brie and Knucklestorm.
Trivia
- In Japanese, Brie says "Let's go!" (行くぞー ikuzō) at the start of battle, but this voice clip was removed in localized versions.
- Brie's bestiary entry in English incorrectly identifies her as the chief of the Space Police, when this position is actually held by Abalon Demar.
- Brie's red, pink, and yellow color scheme is meant to reflect her original Japanese name, Najo Dorūgo, which comes from the Jonagold apple. Likewise, Knucklestorm's color scheme and Japanese name, Jifunsā, are based on the Sun Fuji apple.
- Brie speaks the series' last-ever line of dialogue, which is "Yes, sir!" upon reaching Chromagar Cave with Knucklestorm.
Nomenclature
Her comes from brie, a soft cheese. Pourri is the French word for "rotten", though it may also come from potpourri, a mixture of dried fragrant plants.
