History
Origin
Long ago, the fire otter set a glass of water aflame, thereby creating the aquarino. This mystical substance played a crucial role in preventing the extinction of the otters, as it protected them from the freezing temperatures during an ice age on Cassia. The aquarino was imbued with unique magical properties, rendering it impervious to freezing or evaporating. It also had the potential to imbue any body of water it was mixed with the same properties, which posed a significant threat to Cassia's ecosphere, as it could disrupt the planet's natural balance if the aquarino were to be mixed with the ocean. Because of this, the otters chose to seal the aquarino behind the Nata de Coco Door, ensuring that it could not be used to harm the environment.[1]
Word of the aquarino spread throughout the Baklava solar system via tradesmen. Some time after Magical Vacation, a group of dwarves left Razen to investigate the rumors and determine whether they could incorporate the aquarino into their projects. During their expedition to Cassia, the sun experienced an anomaly that caused its solar and thermal energy to intensify, which in turn enveloped Razen in scorching heat. This sudden change rendered the dwarves unable to return home as their ships could not tolerate the heat surrounding the fire planet. Given no other choice, they used the aquarino as a cooling system for their ship, allowing them to safely enter Razen; however, they were banished after Grenadine discovered that they had wrongly taken technology from Condimen Tower to the water planet.[2] The group subsequently settled in Cassia, where they remained for six generations.[3]
Following the second defeat of Chard, the party entered the Nata de Coco Door and obtained the aquarino, much to the dismay of the otter townsfolk who considered the aquarino to be a cultural artifact. After speaking amongst themselves, the otters agreed to let the team take the aquarino, as they felt responsible for the havoc the astro pirates had caused. The team of banished dwarves upgraded Neumann with it, granting the students access to Razen.
Trivia
- It is likely that the otters, with the assistance of the banished dwarves, also harnessed the aquarino in the construction of spaceships by creating a special cooling system.[4] Historically, only Cassian spacecraft were capable of withstanding the scorching temperatures of Razen after its drastic change in temperature.[5] This could explain how the astro pirates were able to travel to the fire planet.
