Mudmen are a species in Magical Vacation. They live in Moiroroto Village on the Death Plane.
Profile
Mudmen are large egg-shaped creatures made of hardened soil with three holes for faces, girthy arms, and stubby legs. Most are bald, but some are able to grow grass on their bodies. Mudmen's insides are filled with gemstones, formed from the compression of natural elements. These gems make them sentient, and in some cases, give them magic powers. Although they are as tough as diamonds, ranking 9.9 on the Mohs hardness scale, their bodies can crumble when exposed to intense heat.[1] Such traits isolate mudmen from the laws of life and death, allowing them to live naturally in dimensions devoid of life, namely the Death Plane. At one point, mudmen's gemstones were extracted and repurposed as magic doll parts, but these inhumane practices were abolished.[2]
Culturally, mudmen on the Death Plane are carefree and have unusually nihilistic perspectives, often deep in thought the very universe they inhabit. Mudmen such as Chocolat are more simple-minded, but still appreciate simple things in the world. They often end their sentences with んだなっす ndanassu instead of です desu or ます masu.
