Elder beetle is a green beetle with a purple shell on its back. It has a large front-facing horn and a white beard. For performing magic, it wields a staff topped with a lantern.

Elder beetles have wood affinity, gaining an aura when Gren is in alignment. They do not possess any physical skills, and are always present in the back row of another enemy. They will normally use minty freshness to provide defense and spirit buffs to the rest of the enemies in a battle. They can also use briar patch to deal damage to all members of the party.

The elder beetle wears its magnificent horn as proudly as a jewel-encrusted tiara. Don't call it a cockroach. It's very sensitive about that.
