Cybersaurus, known in Japan as SP xaurus,[a] is a boss in Magical Starsign, fought at Sugarleaf Plains West on Razen. An optional second version of the cybersaurus can later be fought at the 1,500-meter point of the Glissini Caves on Nova, called SP beast[b] in Japan.

Profile[edit | edit source]

The cybersaurus is an orange cyborg dinosaur that has been outfitted with electronic armor and equipment. It has a visor with green lenses over its eyes. The version found in the Glissini Caves is pink with orange lenses.[1]

Boss[edit | edit source]

There are two versions of the Cybersaurus in Magical Starsign: the first version is a mandatory boss battle in Sugarleaf Plains West on Razen; the second version is an optional boss that is fought at the 1,500-meter point of the Glissini Caves on Nova.[1]

216[edit | edit source]

The first iteration of the cybersaurus is entry number 216. Despite having dark affinity, it does not possess any spells. While the space warden accompanying it in the back row uses domination, the cybersaurus is unable to perform its most powerful skills, limiting it to just bite off and yell; bite off deals damage to a single member of the party, and yell does the same, but with the potential to inflict dizzy on its target. When the space warden is defeated, the cybersaurus will begin to use its more powerful skills. Its skill desperate lunge inflicts significant damage to the entire party. Cry of the soul is a version of yell that similarly strikes every party member.[1][2]

Bestiary entry[edit | edit source]

English[edit | edit source]

Once, this creature wandered freely, terrorizing the locals as it pleased. The Space Police captured it and brought it under their control with cybernetic parts.

Japanese[edit | edit source]

元・宇宙カイジュウ。 宇宙警察にホカクされ SPカンシュのリモコンで あやつられるままに動く。

Formerly a space kaiju. It was captured by the Space Police, and is operated by the SP jailor's remote control.

227[edit | edit source]

The second battle with the cybersaurus in the Glissini Caves.

The second, optional iteration of the cybersaurus is number 227, fought at the 1,500-meter point of the Glissini Caves, and joined by two jellybeasts and an Erilyn. Unlike the first iteration, this enemy has fire affinity, though it again has no spells. Unlike the first encounter, where desperate lunge and cry of the soul were restricted by a space warden using domination, this version will instead begin to use these skills the moment the rest of the enemies in the battle are defeated.[1][2]

History[edit | edit source]

The cybersaurus approaches the party.

Prior to its capture, the cybersaurus lived freely on Razen. During their raid on Condimen Tower and Paella, the Space Police occupied the west section of Paella in order to assemble a weapon that could take on the party. While sleeper agent Detective Beignet did not see this for himself, he was confident that whatever they were preparing was not ready to be deployed.

When the party arrived in Paella, Beignet alerted them to the Space Police's activities without drawing attention, telling them to strike before their preparations could be completed. On their way through the west portion of the village, they ran into Parfait, who helped them clear a path through the crowd of troops. When they approached the area where the Space Police were preparing their weapon, the two remaining members of the force recognized that they would need to activate it regardless of preparations, thus revealing it as the cybersaurus, now outfitted with electronic equipment. It was swiftly defeated by the party, thus ending the Space Police's failed occupation of Razen.[1]
