Enigma fusion, or simply fusion, is a concept in the Magical Vacation series.
Profile
Fusion is a process wherein an enigma fuses into the heart of its host body, but only if the host is emotionally vulnerable or willing to conduct a fusion. Once the fusion is complete, the vessel's thoughts are amplified to match the enigma's high subconscious wavelengths, in turn releasing incredible amounts of power. Although the vessel's will and consciousness are still in tact while under possession, some drown in the power unlocked by fusion and gradually surrender themselves to the enigma. This causes the vessel to act erratically, and in time, the enigma takes over their entire consciousness and body.[1] If the vessel has a strong will, they can control the enigmas' power within them and still retain their consciousness.
A less common phenomenon is de-fusion with an enigma. In order for a host body and an enigma to separate, the host must release all of their magic. This also applies if the host and enigma's fusion is interrupted midway.[2] Although only two instances of de-fusion have ever been witnessed, those being Equillekrew from Candy Mintblue and Kerurendu from Ganache Nighthawk, doing so allows the former vessel to awaken to an expanded state of consciousness. While it may seem like the former vessel is no longer able to use magic, their powers can ostensibly be restored with enough practice.
