Dogu are a species in Magical Starsign. It is unknown which planet they inhabit.
Profile
Based on real life Japanese dogū (literally "earthen figure"), they are short humanoid figures made of an earthen material. They have ovular heads, large closed eyes, circular mouths, compact bodies, and small hands and feet. Male dogu are jade green in color, ornamented with a fountain-shaped headpiece, protrusions on either side of their head meant to resemble hair ties, and swirly markings. Female dogu are pink and purple, with a cork-shaped headpiece, and features resembling pigtails.
It seems that dogu speak their own language, as evidenced by Kir's only line of dialogue, which appears to be gibberish.[1][2]
Trivia
- Kir is the only dogu that appears in the game. Despite this, there exist artwork and sprites for a female counterpart, suggesting that dogu were planned to be regular non-player characters.
- Their shape coincidentally resembles the guardian, a boss in Magical Vacation.
