Welcome to the wiki!

Welcome to Kovopedia, and thanks for the recent contribs! Just a heads-up, we're gradually reformatting pages as templates get updated, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions! And seeing as you're adding international names to MS-related pages, you can refer to this item list by Erythrosights! wind˚₊‧꒰ა ≠◡= ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ (talk) 02:40, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

MS Enemy Stats template

Ah, forgot to mention. Regarding Template:MS Enemy Stats:

  • [[File:MS {{{img|{{{name|{{PAGENAME}}}}}}}} Sprite.png]] is a universal parameter for MS enemy sprites, which can be changed in certain circumstances. We use a specific file naming system that will increase the resolution of all files with the "Sprite" suffix. Files with the "- Battle" suffix still need to be moved lol.
  • The parameters within parameters, like {{{habitat|{{{location|―}}}}}} seem a little redundant, since the existing parameter works universally.
  • {{{drop|―}}} doesn't need to be {{{drops|―}}}, since MS enemies only drop one type of item.
For a lot of enemies, the Sprite.png seems to not exists. This is why I used Battle.png images because they fit well in the template on the enemies pages
I agree with you for nested parameters but I do this to ensure retro-compatibility with existing templates and to fix empty values on the enemies pages (no, lv, location), etc.
It's exactly the same reason for converting drop to drops. A lot of enemies pages have a mispelling name for this parameter Sunchock (talk) 17:02, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
Ohhh I see where you're coming from. That's mainly because up until a few months ago, the enemy stats template looked completely different and had slightly different parameters, hence the inconsistencies on most enemy pages right now. Since we adopted a new file naming system and redesigned the stats template, most MS enemy pages need to be updated with those new parameters, and the sprite files need to be moved over. If you want an easy copy-paste of the new MS enemy stat template, you can find it on Template:MS Enemy Stats#Example. I'm sorry for not providing that context earlier. wind˚₊‧꒰ა ≠◡= ໒꒱ ‧₊˚ (talk) 16:33, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
Don't worry, thanks for the infos. So the next step is to rename old parameters to the new ones on each enemy page ? Do you have a todo list or something like that pls ? I talked with Rman on the discord server and I would like to help you but idk where to begin Sunchock (talk) 16:44, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
Indeed! Our biggest priority at the moment is updating enemy and item pages, especially MS-related ones. I'll handle moving over the sprites since it's a mod-only privilege, and I'll let you work on outdated pages to get a feel for the wiki. They typically have missing info, broken file links, and/or the old infobox template (which should be replaced with Template:Infobox Character). And of course, feel free to ask questions if you're stuck on something!
