Kovopedia:Talk Pages

On Kovopedia, talk pages are where constructive discussions regarding the wiki are held. They can be used to propose changes, suggest improvements, resolve editing disputes, and even contact other users to maximize the wiki's potential. However, there are guidelines that need to be followed nonetheless.
How to use
Starting a topic
Click "Talk" at the very top of a page to access its corresponding talk page. Once you have accessed the talk page, you can click "Add topic" to start a new discussion thread, which also gives you a subject bar to input an appropriate title for your topic. You can then write your comment in the source code, similar to a regular wiki article.
Once you are done, sign your comment with four tildes (~~~~). This automatically renders a signature with your username, links to your userpage and talk page, and the time and date of the signing. It is mandatory that you sign your comments, since it accurately preserves the page's discussion history.
If you save a new topic on a talk page, and there is a title in the subject bar, it will create a Level 2 Header to indicate the beginning of your topic.
Responding to comments
On talk pages, you are able to respond to topics started by other users and the comments within them. When responding to another user's comment, you should begin your sentence with a number of colons (:). This will indent your response, and for every new response to the topic, an additional colon should be added to the beginning. This assures that the discussion is organized and readable for those partaking in the discussion.
Content talk pages
Content talk pages are used to handle specific topics on Kovopedia. Each content namespace on the wiki has its own talk page grouping, including but not limited to articles, templates, and uploaded files. Discussions on a content talk page must be constructive, on topic, and pertinent to the corresponding main page. For example, a topic can be opened to formally discuss the formatting of a page, or the structure of a template.
Content talk pages are not forums, meaning that comments such as "Should I choose light magic or dark magic?" or "Where am I supposed to go next?" are not permitted.
User talk pages
User talk pages serve as venues for more general discussions between users, though the aforementioned guidelines apply to them as well. They provide an efficient way to contact users to discuss their contributions, offer advice, or request information that can help the wiki grow. Administrators can also be contacted through these talk pages to give notice to other users.
Similar to content talk pages, user talk pages are not chatrooms or journals, and comments added to them must be relevant to Kovopedia. Welcoming a user or expressing gratitude for contributions to the wiki are considered relevant activities, but comments such as "How is your playthrough going?" are not permitted. If you are looking for a place to casually chat about the Magical Vacation series or general topics unrelated to the wiki, Kovopedia has an affiliated Discord server.
Personal attacks and offensive language do not belong on user talk pages and constitute violations subject to blocking. This also applies to content talk pages.
