Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Enemies in Tuoekat are considerably stronger than those on the lower floors of Garam Masala, and they are also all dark-elemental. Although the protagonist has resistance to their dark magic, enemies' physical skills are still highly effective. Thus, it is recommended that the party be at least level 130-200 on average. If using a limited party, optimal strategies include equipping the protagonist with the brownie set, casting fluorite to buff physical defense, inflicting slip damage with poison spells, and having love spells and white rose for support.
Since Tuoekat is only accessible while the protagonist is a dark mage, it gets blocked off once they class change into a light mage outside of the dungeon. Although the protagonist may class change while inside Tuoekat, thereby gaining a big advantage against the dark-element enemies, the dungeon cannot be re-entered if the player chooses to leave at any point. As such, it is possible to miss all five pieces of the black set, which are in tunnels hidden by walls, and the secret party member Pooka in Tuoekat 10. Enemy bestiary entries and the seventh dark spirit are missable, too.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Immediately after stepping into Tuoekat, all party members except the protagonist get sent back to the magic bus. Scattered throughout the dungeon are statues depicting spirits, and by touching them, the character of that spirit's element joins the party (e.g., touching a Toasty statue summons Kirsche). They stop working once the party has reached six members. To remove party members, the player must touch clusters of pink dark spirit stones; the member removed corresponds with the number of stones in the cluster. Moreover, several tunnels in Tuoekat are hidden by walls that limit the player's vision.
The dungeon also possesses obstacles that block paths on the lower levels. These include red gummy worms on Tuoekat 6, Porcelain Pots on Tuoekat 7 (which function like the do in Garam Masala), and Bomber Pots on Tuoekat 8 that are removed by sacrificing a green gummy frog or using Candy's special power.
Nomenclature[edit | edit source]
Its name comes from take-out, prepared meals purchased from food outlets.
