Guide
During the first visit to Muy Mot Desert, Latte Rustynail will be a mandatory party. The player can only walk a certain amount of steps before Latte overheats, which sends the party back to Tapioca Tea Village. To prevent Latte from overheating, the players must interact with the rainmakers scattered across the desert, whose rain will temporarily cool him off.
The objective of this area is to reach Opopmat Cave, where Mace will teach Cider Rainbow a technique that lets him move black-feathered ricebirds. He also gives the party a water veil, which permanently keeps Latte cooled down. However, Opopmat Cave can only be visited after the events at Ecir Thicket; otherwise, Latte will overheat whenever the player gets too close to the cave. Once the water veil is obtained, the player can visit the optional area Akvavit Castle north of Opopmat Cave, which contains several spirits with high demands.
History
Muy Mot Desert was once a part of Spollacs Swamp, until a group of water people emerged in the Dark Realm after enigmas attacked their home in the Water Realm. To protect themselves from the power of darkness, the water people gathered water from the swamps and rivers to construct Akvavit Castle, leaving Muy Mot Desert in its place. Consequently, dark forces began to spread across the Dark Realm.[1]
Nomenclature
Its name comes from tom yum, a Thai hot and sour soup.
