"A spirit that obeys those with power. Doubles the strength of dark magic when cast."
Inky, known in Japan as Nirva,[a] is the spirit of darkness in Magical Vacation. Darkness is one of the most powerful elements, being strong against every other element except love and light, the latter of which is its only weakness. Inky's spells can also drain MP from enemies. Ganache and Pooka use Inky in battle, and the protagonist unlocks dark magic if they register 100 amigos in Link Mode.
Inky is a purple bulb-shaped creature with four red eyes across the base of its body. Its zipper-like mouth is located long the head, as are a pair of tiny green devil wings.[1]
Inkies disguise themselves as skulls. They appear when the party catches enough gummy frogs, and join if they can win a challenge battle. All enemy sets for the challenge battles are listed below.[1]
Its Japanese name, Nirva, may be referring to the concept of 'nirvana', whereby one's soul is released from samsara, the worldly cycle of reincarnation.
Blackcurrant the Grand Dark Spirit reinforces this reference; they send stars, the souls of experienced mages who have chosen not to reincarnate, to an afterlife beyond the Abyssal Realm.
Although the English fan translation renamed this spirit to Inky, there are some instances where it is referred to as Shadowy.
According to Magical Vacation rumors, the dark spirit's mouth is actually a parasitic zipper bug.
