Gummy frogs are a type of item and species in the Magical Vacation series. They can be eaten to restore hit points.
Gameplay
Magical Vacation
In Magical Vacation, gummy frogs can be obtained in a variety of ways, mostly from shops and enemy drops. If the party uses an HP Pot with Pistachio present, and they own 20 or less frogs, Pistachio will retrieve three frogs from the pot, with their color being determined by the party's rank. If too many frogs are caught in the overworld and purchased from shops, the party is less likely to befriend love spirits, but they are safe to obtain from chests, enemy drops, searching on the magic bus, and Pistachio's special power. Once all seven love spirits have been recruited, gummy frogs can be caught with no consequence, as it is needed to make dark spirits appear. The number of frogs caught is visible on the report card. Excessively catching gummy frogs also makes them less likely to appear and respawn, since every frog in the overworld has a set lifespan.[1]
Magical Starsign
Gummy frogs in Magical Starsign are functionally identical to those in Magical Vacation. In the overworld, Mokka can use his wild magic to topple every frog in the area, the protagonist's dark wild magic makes gummy frogs vanish, and Kir retrieves red frogs from HP Pots. They also have set life spans, and will gradually disappear if many are caught. By abstaining from the capture or purchase of gummy frogs, the party is able to recruit the egg characters Star or Pooka by talking to Filamen in Sparklin Palace, depending on the protagonist's affinity. The safest ways to obtain frogs is from chests, enemy drops, Kir's overworld ability, searching on Neumann, and reflex guarding during swinger's frog toss attack.[2]
Profile
Gummy frogs are made of a magic gelatinous substance which houses the souls of real frogs. Once a gummy frog is captured, it becomes full gummy and adopts a capsule form, while the soul departs for the Abyssal Corridor. Between the two games, there are 33 different colors of frogs, all of which replenish HP at varying amounts.[1][2]

Trivia
- In Magical Vacation, there is a glitched gummy frog in Toptoh Mines that never disappears, regardless of how many times it is captured.
- In Magical Starsign, the space warden enemy can use a skill called red frog gummy on cybersaurus, though it does not actually consume a red frog item.
- Gummy frogs make a cameo appearance in Sword of Mana, localized in English as "GummiFrog". Instead of having healing properties like in the Magical Vacation series, eating a GummiFrog sets the consumer's Deathblow gauge to MAX.
