Bloaterfish are round, purple sea creatures with large red mouths. Along their back is a light blue drape that extends down, acting as the tail that they stand on.[1]

Bloaterfish have water affinity, gaining an aura when Cassia is in alignment. They can perform the spell hailstorm, which will attack a single party member from the front row, or up to four party members from the back row. When Cassia is out of alignment, they will often perform the neutral spell celestial swap in order to move it to obtain aura. They will also rarely use the physical skill full-on stomp, which strikes a single member of the party.[1][2]
Tired of life underwater, this creature moved to dry land and fresh air. Living on land leaves it's skin dry and chapped, so it spends its days applying moisturizer.
Trivia
Its Japanese name, namazoo, comes from the word namazu, meaning 'catfish'.[b]
