The six students were then summoned to the academy's meditation room, where Madeleine taught them the basics of magical [[Combat in Magical Starsign|combat]]. However, Sorbet remarked that Madeleine did not seem like her usual self. Once the lesson concluded, Sorbet was under the impression that the group would be going into space too, though Madeleine assured them that no such thing would be happening.

Three months later, the students grew worried, as Madeleine had not contacted Kovomaka for three months since her departure. When [[Pico]] and [[Chai]] took notice of [[Lassi]]'s sudden absence, Sorbet reminded her friends that rockets were rumored to be stowed somewhere in the academy, suggesting Lassi planned on using one to fly to Puffoon herself. Sorbet accompanied [[Mokka]] and the [[Protagonist (Magical Starsign)|protagonist]] to a rocket hangar in the academy's clocktower, where Lassi, aboard one of the rockets, launched into space. They had landed on the [[Wood (affinity)|wood]] planet together after Lassi left the academy, but Sorbet was probably taken due to being a magician. The group traveled north to [[Port Assam]] where confrontation broke out between Pico, Sorbet, and the [[pirate otter]]s lead by Lord [[Persimmon]]. Several pirate otters dogpiled on top of Sorbet, only to be blown away by a surge of her water magic. Impressed by her talents, Persimmon began sailing off to the [[Fire (affinity)|fire]] planet [[Razen]] with [[Semolina]], disguised as [[Farina]], on board. Before his ship left Assam's dock, Sorbet hesitantly leapt on, to the dismay of Pico and the others.

Once the party obtained the [[aquarino]] from [[Cassia]], they hastily flew to Razen, where Sorbet was seen conversing with two [[enigma]]s. She then passed through a barrier into the [[potfolk]] town of [[Paella]], while her classmates followed. They paid a visit with Paella's barrier craftsman [[Celadon]], but after leaving his house, Sorbet snuck by and ran off with Celadon, claiming she could save Madeleine on her own. Chai and his five [[Party (Magical Starsign)|classmates]] learned of Miss [[Madeleine]]'s orders to fly to [[Puffoon]], wherein she would face a rogue magician named [[Kale]] and his [[astro pirates]]. Madeleine later took them to the academy's meditation room, and Chai assisted the [[Protagonist (Magical Starsign)|protagonist]] in learning the basics of rows in [[Combat in Magical Starsign|combat]]. Once the lesson was over, Chai eagerly asked Madeleine if the students would be going to space as well, to which she said no, but admitted to having an odd foreshadowy feeling.

It was not until three months later when the students grew concerned, as Madeleine had not contacted [[Kovomaka]] following her voyage to Puffoon. When [[Lassi]] suddenly went missing, their curiosity led them up the academy's clocktower and into a hangar crowded with rockets. One of these rockets was being operated by Lassi, who carelessly activated it and blasted off into space. The protagonist boarded one as well in an attempt to chase after Lassi, resulting in the two of them crash landing on [[Erd]].

After the protagonist and Lassi escaped from Erd, and subsequently reunited with [[Mokka]] on [[Cassia]], they were given the option of either flying to Puffoon or [[Gren]]. Upon landing on Puffoon, they berthed their [[Neumann|magic rocket]] in the planet's spaceport, and to their surprise, a Will-o'-Wisp rocket was parked there too. They entered the city of [[Bena Rikashi]] to file a Missing Persons report to the [[Space Police]], believing it would bring them one step closer to saving Madeleine. However, they passed by each desk in the Space Police HQ to no avail, that was until they reached the top floor where the chief's office was located. After retrieving [[toilet paper]] for the stand-in chief [[Mugwort]], he too rejected their pleas. Unbeknownst to them, Chai was hiding in the bathroom stall next to Mugwort's.

With the Space Police no longer being of use to the party, they left the HQ building and bumped into a [[felin]] named [[Parfait]], who correctly assumed that they attended Will-o'-Wisp. She invited them over to "her house" on the city's outskirts, where she asked them to help her find a special book. This book turned out to be the [[Book of the Darned]]. Parfait hastily took the book and alluded to her possible familiarity of Madeleine and Kale, but when the students tried to follow her, they were instead confronted by a Space Police officer. It turned out Parfait had duped them, and "her house" was actually [[?????|Kale's laboratory]]. Suddenly, the officer received a call about a salamander escaping custody, which he urgently responded to. Down the street was none other than Chai, who anxiously warned his friends that the Space Police were pursuing them. Before he could say anything else, two officers chased him out of the city and into [[Quinoa Plain]]. The students left the city as well and encountered [[Brioche (rabbit)|Brioche]] the [[rabbit]]. Brioche invited them to meet up with Chai in the village of [[Honey Mint]], revealing that he had run off with secret police documents.

The students finally reunited in Honey Mint with Brioche, who was accompanied by his father [[Cresson]]. Lassi took a peek at the documents that Chai stole, which was actually a list of magicians kidnapped by the astro pirates. They read further down to see Madeleine's name, with the arresting officer being cited as the Space Police's fighting instructor [[Biek Fowler]]. Brioche advised the students ask [[Twigadamus]] for help, but before they could do so, Mugwort flew in alongside [[Brie Pourri]], the true Space Police chief. Pourri ordered Mugwort to deal with the students as she flew back to the HQ building with Chai in her grasp.

The Will-o'-Wisp group, sans Chai, won against Mugwort, only to be scolded for assaulting an officer. In a last-minute effort to get Mugwort off their backs, Cresson offered Brioche's piggy bank of two million [[bira]] as compensation. The bribe surprisingly worked, to the dismay of Brioche, and the stand-in police chief sailed back to Bena Rikashi. As Brioche sobbed at the loss of his hard-earned money, he was consulted by Twigadamus, who arrived to tell him that his dreams were destined to come true. The students talked to Twigadamus, who seemed familiar with Madeleine, and let them gaze into the magic crystal at his house. Presented to them was a brief vision of the Space Police HQ and a treasure chest.

After pushing the chest off a floating island, the party obtained a magical item called the [[tempus forget]]. They returned to Bena Rikashi and unleashed the tempus forget in the Space Police HQ, allowing them to sneak past the officers to Pourri's desk. Next to her was a treasure box containing Chai, and upon his release, he alleged that the pirates were gathering magicians from Gren and sending them off to [[Razen]]. As Chai joined the party, they boarded Neumann and flew off to Gren.

When he returned to Kovomaka, Chai studied further in the hopes of improving his skill in magic. However, he grew bored with studying roughly a decade later, and chose to sneak into a storage locker near the fuel tank in [[Mokka]], who had been converted to a rocket by Lassi, prior to his launch into deep space.<ref name="MS"/>

Frightened by their stories, he fled the room and ran to the bus, expressing his fear to the [[Protagonist (Magical Vacation)|protagonist]] and [[Peche]]. As the students talked amongst themselves on the drive to Valencia Beach, Latte overheard a conversation about [[Chocolat]]'s enrollment in Will-o'-Wisp after being excavated two decades ago. He bragged how he was much the same, but [[Blueberry]] remarked that Biscotti purchased him second-hand for only 200 [[bira]]. Latte stood his ground, stating his price did not affect his self-worth.

Later that evening, Latte wandered the beach while humming songs and questioning the ways of the world. However, things took a turn for the worst when [[enigma]]s suddenly swarmed in, [[warp]]ing all the students to another [[plane]] of existence called the [[Light Realm]]. Latte managed to reunite with Blueberry, [[Lemon]], Peche, and [[Candy]], though Candy left to look for the other students. As for Latte and the other girls, they stumbled upon [[Balsamico]] aboard the magic bus in [[Ricebird Fields]], which was supposedly dragged to the Light Realm during the enigma invasion. Balsamico exclaimed the bus broke down from the impact, and so asked Latte if he could borrow some parts from his body. Appropriately horrified by Balsamico's plan, Latte ran off and was eventually caught by [[dwarf|dwarves]]. While in the dwarves' possession, Latte was remodeled into an oven, and later sold off to [[Parmesan (souris)|Parmesan]] of [[souris]] crime syndicate in [[Tour de la Roche]].

The party managed to invade Tour de la Roche and meet with Parmesan on the top floor, where he learned that Latte was affiliated with them. Offering him ten [[blue frog (Magical Vacation)|blue frog]]s, Parmesan gave Latte back to the students. Latte nervously exclaimed he was ready to be modified for the magic bus, having experienced what it was like to be retooled, and hurried back to Ricebird Fields. By the time the students made it to the bus, Balsamico had tried tinkering with Latte, but found his components to be too worn out. He requested they visit the [[Iko Domnag]] factory and have Latte upgraded into a magic power generator, which would give the bus enough energy to warp out of the Light Realm. Conquering several trials and scaling Iko Domnag, the group consulted [[Grenadine]] and fought his [[tartar terrier]], after which he remodeled Latte into a magic power generator. The remaining students had been warped to the Dark Realm moments prior, and seeing as the magic bus only had enough energy to warp once, the students opted to return to Will-o'-Wisp in the [[Material Realm]] first. While Balsamico and a handful of students stayed behind to repair the bus, Latte and the protagonist entered the academy's summoning machine; the pulses from Latte's generator altered the machine's magic flow, effectively reverse-summoning them into the Dark Realm.

Exploring the Dark Realm and reuniting with more students along the way, the party soon arrived at [[Opopmat Cave]] past [[Muy Mot Desert]]. There, they met Bruschetta, who reminded Latte of how he was excavated from the underground temple two decades ago. With his motivation reignited, Bruschetta asked that Latte and his friends find the four other members of the excavation team, and encourage them to return to Opopmat Cave.

Resuming their journey, the stakes were drastically raised when [[Ganache]] and [[Candy]] entered a portal to the [[Abyssal Realm]], with Ganache planning on [[enigma fusion|fusing]] with the enigmas' former king [[Kerendu]]. Fearing the worst, Miss Madeleine retooled Latte and got the bus to warp to the Abyssal Realm. The students pursued the duo, eventually challenging Candy and un-fusing her with the enigma [[Equillekrew (Magical Vacation)|Equillekrew]]. Their search ended in the cave of [[reincarnation]], [[Drazzig Grotto]], finding Ganache talking with Kerendu. Before a fusion could commence, the students expressed their concerns to Ganache. Latte reminded Ganache of the tranquility he felt sitting by the [[riverbed]], explaining that happiness is easy for anyone to achieve. Defeating Kerendu and interrupting his fusion with Ganache, the party chased him into the [[Revival Chamber]] and vanquished him for good. Biscotti ordered Madeleine to put a stop to Kale's antics on [[Puffoon]], which she accepted despite her students' worries. She summoned them all to the academy's meditation room afterwards, wherein she gave them a crash course on magical [[Combat in Magical Starsign|combat]].

Three months later, after Madeleine had made no contact with [[Kovomaka]], Lassi snuck into a storage room in the academy's clocktower where six rockets were stored. The other students eventually tracked Lassi down, but by the time they reached the rocket hangar, Lassi was launched into space. The [[protagonist (Magical Starsign)|protagonist]] quickly followed, as did [[Mokka]], [[Chai]], [[Pico]], and [[Sorbet]]. As Lassi's rocket was being chased by the protagonist's, she collided with an asteroid and plummeted onto [[Erd]], the [[Earth (affinity)|earth]] [[planet]]. Awaking in a raging sandstorm, the protagonist retrieved a bottle of [[kovo water]] from Lassi's rocket and used it to heal her. The protagonist attended [[Will-o'-Wisp Academy]] as a student, learning about [[Magic (Magical Starsign)|magic]] and [[Starsigns]]. In this time, they met and created close bonds with a [[Party (Magical Starsign)|group]] of friends.

One day, while attending class, [[Pico]] asked the protagonist if something may have happened to Miss [[Madeleine]], as she was late to class. [[Sorbet]] reminded the two that it was a common occurrence for her to be late, and that she might be finishing her lesson plan. The group continued to discuss the subject, until [[Lassi]] alerted everyone that she was coming. Madeleine stormed into the room, telling her students good morning. The class began to argue with her over the fairness of them being punished given she was always late to class, to which she promised to always be on time in the future.

The party then overheard their conversation, including Biscotti's plan to send Madeleine to [[Puffoon]], the [[Wind (affinity)|wind]] planet, to deal with Master [[Kale]], a once-student of hers, and a group of pirates and mages. The listening group broke into the room, questioning if Madeleine really was leaving, to which she assured them that they were not intended to hear those statements.

Three months after Madeleine left the school on her elusive mission, the Protagonist was told that Lassi had gone missing. While Pico and Chai investigated, the Protagonist chose to either search for her alone, or be joined by Mokka. In the hidden room upstairs in the Academy, the Protagonist found Sorbet, who had discovered a stone ladder in the corner of the room. If he was not already with them, Mokka joined the Protagonist.

After climbing the ladder, the group was led to a room with a large door. After approaching, it awakened as a living being, the [[Door to the Heavens]]. It claimed that it could only let through to the heavens beings who display extraordinary power, magic of [[Light (affinity)|Light]] or [[Dark (affinity)|Dark]] affinity. After instructing the Protagonist, they displayed their magic outwardly, signalling their worthiness. The door opened for the group, allowing them to proceed to the passage beyond.

Mokka detected footprints on the ground in the area, and said that they continued up the ladder at the end of the hallway. After climbing the ladder, the group was led to multiple rockets at the very top of the academy building. Pico and Chai caught up with the group at the same time. Lassi, inside one of the rockets, triggered it into ignition, opening the top of the school as a launchpad and sending herself into space, all while leaving her friends behind her unconscious in the rubble. The protagonist then got up and entered one of the rockets, following Lassi across space.

She asked for [[Kovo Water]] from her rocket, and got up once the Protagonist gave it to her. After recounting the events and her confusion to the Protagonist, Lassi joined the party. After seeing that her rocket was out of commission, Lassi came to the realization that the two were not on the wind planet.

Directionless, the two moved north. They were blocked along the path by a thicker section of the sandstorm that made it impossible to progress. After using her wind magic, Lassi was able to eliminate the storm entirely. Cheering at her abilities, Lassi failed to realize that behind her, a [[Ant lion|large creature]] had emerged from the sand.
